More new product! Meet Edition 3, a DK weight multicolor yarn that comes in 50 gram, 164 yard easy-to-use balls. Edition 3 is a cousin to Zauberball Crazy so you’ll see some of the same gradients unfolding as you work with this yarn.
Crochet folks, consider planning a shawl or granny square project using one of these multicolored gradients as your main yarn. You can add a lot of different colors by using Edition 3 as inspiration.
The Winter Roses KAL (knit along) is underway and there’s even a bonus hat pattern that I’d like you to see. You will recall that the KAL is a pullover in two variations that knit with luscious HiKoo Simplinatural.

My third vaccine (I'm a Moderna person) is scheduled for today so I’ll hunker down with some knitting as I wait out the possible side effects. The Winter Roses hat pattern, the needles and the yarn will be nearby.

I’m a fan of marching band music and like to follow the United States Marine Band, known as The President’s Own. They start with Sousa marches and expand their repertoire from there. There's a Sousa observance this weekend with a Livestream performance. Be sure to check it out.
This week has been coffeecake week at our house. I hunted up an old recipe that I photocopied from a Betty Crocker cookbook. It is a classic baking powder quick bread with a streusel topping that's baked in a cake pan. Leftovers get pulled from the freezer and microwaved to enjoy with morning coffee. Tasty!
My secret ingredient is Vietnamese cinnamon, one of four kinds of cinnamon available from a Wisconsin based spice company, Penzey’s. The Vietnamese cinnamon is sweet and smooth. We like it.
Snow! The National Weather Service office in Gaylord, Michigan documented a record 11.6" from Monday through Tuesday, Nov. 1-2. Scroll down in this Washington Post article to see the headquarters building of the Gaylord NWS in mid-Michigan. It was a TON of snow for early November!
