Hatha-Based Yoga with Cindi Schickert

These classes are Hatha based, where postures are held for a few breaths with some slow flow added in.

2-D Tuesday: Open Studio

Open studio work time is scheduled every Tuesday from 10am-3pm, available for people to work independently on their artwork in our 2-D room. Participants will provide their own materials.

Yoga Flow with Kate Remme

This athletic and strengthening Yoga class will flow from one pose to the next, while releasing muscle tension & reducing stress. Various styles of Yoga will be explored, such as Power Yoga, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Yoga Fusion. Modifications offered for all levels.

Ceramic Wall Hanging (2-day class) SOLD OUT!

Surrounded by wildlife in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, deer, owls, and bears are some of the imagery that pours onto the clay. This class will use several surface decoration techniques including painting with underglaze and sgraffito.

Dotting with Deb 2

Join Debbie Wycklendt as she teaches you to dot! This is an introductory experience. All materials will be provided. Each participant will receive a took kit that includes 17 dotting tools, a stencil, a pallet, 4 bottles of paint (turquois, teal, dark blue, and white), and a 5×7 canvas.

Corks & Canvas

With instruction and guidance from an experienced artist/teacher, participants will paint their own version of an example image and will start at the beginning, including a description of tools and materials, and proceed step by step through the creation of an acrylic painting.

Spring Homeschool Session: Insects in the Northwoods

May Intermediate/Advanced Wheel Throwing (class 3 of 4)

Are you interested in honing your skills on the potter’s wheel? This offering is perfect for those who have some experience and consider their skill level to be intermediate or advanced in relation to the potter’s wheel. You should be comfortable centering clay and pulling a decent wall. Further your skills under the guidance of John Langer, an experienced studio potter, in a small class setting with no more than 6 students.

Opening Ceremony: Living WITH the Northwoods!

We invite you to attend the launch of our summer programming, Living WITH the Northwoods. On Friday, May 20, 2022 from 7 – 9 pm , Wayne Valliere will lead a traditional opening ceremony involving Native American drum and song. This event is free to attend and open to the public.
Master Artist Wayne Valliere (Mino-giizhig in Ojibwe) is a member of The Lake Superior Chippewa’s Lac du Flambeau band, and a 2020 recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellowship, the nation’s highest honor awarded to those who keep folk and traditional arts alive. Wayne will present an itinerary that spans harvesting materials from our local woodlands to building a summer wigwam in the Warehouse courtyard, to talking about Living WITH the Northwoods in harmony.
Wayne will also give a detailed schedule for the first day of material harvesting, Saturday, May 21st. Participants will meet at The Warehouse at 8 am to caravan to Wayne Valliere’s home. Breakfast will be served at 9 am at Wayne’s Lac du Flambeau home and proceed to the harvest area, harvesting saplings from 10am-12pm. This Saturday activity is also a free event that is open to the public, but participants should secure a free ticket to attend. Call the Warehouse at 715-479-4060 or register at https://eagleriverart.com/events/wigwam-construction-gathering-saplings-at-chequamegon/. This activity is limited to 30 participants max, ages 10 and up are welcome. Participants should bring gloves and, if possible, a folding hand saw.

Beginning Wheel Throwing 1-Day Boot Camp (glazing) SOLD OUT!
Date: Saturday, May 21 (class 2 of 2)
Time: 10am-12pm
Instructor: Johanna Buwalda
Cost: $80 / person
On May 7 from 9:00 am-noon, participants will center, open, and pull ten consecutive vessels. Participants will then choose their two best and set them aside while they break for lunch. From 1:00 – 3:00 pm Participants will trim and prepare each of their two vessels. After the vessels are dried and fired, participants are invited to return to the Warehouse on Saturday, May 21 from 10:00 am–noon to learn about glazing and preparation for glaze firing. Participants will glaze their two vessels and stage them for glaze firing. Participants will be notified when their vessels are fired and ready for pick up. Cost is $80.00 (includes, clay, glaze, firings, and instruction). Space is limited.
Participants may keep extra vessels for $3 each.

Todd Schroeckenthaler: LIVE @ Inspiration Bar

Singer and keyboardist Todd Schroeckenthaler returns by popular demand to Inspiration Bar Friday, May 27th from 7-9pm, recreating a nostalgic piano lounge listening experience for his audiences. Todd is inspired by the 1950’s through ’70’s music of American jazz and pop culture, performing crooner classics by greats such as Nat King Cole and Andy Williams, while interspersing songs from favorite Broadway musicals and movie soundtracks. Drawing from fond memories of family vacations in the Three Lakes area, Todd has made the Northwoods his home since 2016, is also a talented artistic photographer, and is a regular performer beloved by assisted care residents of Milestone in Eagle River.

June Beginning/Advanced Beginning Wheel Throwing (3-week class)

This class is for absolute beginners to advanced beginners. Students who have never wheel thrown and students who have taken some classes and want to improve their wheel throwing skills and are all welcome in this class. Are you just beginning to explore the wheel for the first time, or are you not quite ready for an advanced wheel throwing class? This is the class for you.
This is a 3-session series with instructor Johanna Buwalda.
6 students maximum.

June Pottery Baskets (3-week class)
Dates: Thursdays June 2, 9, 16
Time: June 2: 2-5pm, June 9 + 16: 2-4pm
Instructor: Johanna Buwalda
Cost: $100 / person
This is a Handbuilding class which means that instead of mainly using a pottery wheel, we will use forms and the extruder to create thin strips of clay that can be woven together to form a basket. The instructor will help you design your basket, and guide you through some different techniques to create it. We can embellish our baskets with decorative rims and handles, and of course a beautiful glaze.
