April Beginner's Pottery Wheel (class 3 of 3)
Dates: Mondays weekly in April, 4/11, 18, 25
Time: 10am-2pm
Instructor: Lisa Opfer
Cost: $185 / person

This class is for absolute beginners with no experience, to advanced beginners. Students will learn the process of throwing on a potter’s wheel and how to decorate the surface of their pieces with glaze. Simple beginner techniques using underglazing, and carving techniques.

This class is for absolute beginners to advanced beginners. Students who have never wheel thrown and students who have taken some classes and want to improve their wheel throwing skills and are all welcome in this class. Are you just beginning to explore the wheel for the first time, or are you not quite ready for an advanced wheel throwing class? This is the class for you.
April Hatha-Based Yoga with Cindi Schickert

Cost: $40 / person for the 4-week April session, or $12 / class drop-in

These classes are Hatha based, where postures are held for a few breaths with some slow flow added in.

April Yoga Flow with Kate Remme
Dates: Wednesdays weekly in April, 4/6, 13, 20, 27
Time: 8:30-9:30am

This athletic and strengthening Yoga class will flow from one pose to the next, while releasing muscle tension & reducing stress. Various styles of Yoga will be explored, such as Power Yoga, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and Yoga Fusion. Modifications offered for all levels.
Watercolor Community Class

Are you interested in honing your skills on the potter’s wheel? This offering is perfect for those who have some experience and consider their skill level to be intermediate or advanced in relation to the potter’s wheel. You should be comfortable centering clay and pulling a decent wall. Further your skills under the guidance of John Langer, an experienced studio potter, in a small class setting with no more than 6 students.

Our Arts & Aging program is designed to visit assisted living facilities and community centers in Vilas, Oneida, and Forest Counties bringing artistic experiences to this very special segment of our community population.
Spring Homeschool Session: Insects in the Northwoods
Dates: Thursdays April 28, May 5, 12, 19, 26 (5-week session)
Time: 10:30am-12pm

In this unit, students will create projects that explore different insects that can be found here in the Northwoods.

Arts on Tap: Wayne Valliere: "Niigaan Gakeyaa" (What is up ahead)

Speaker: Master Artist Wayne Valliere, NEA Heritage Fellow

Join Master Artist Wayne Valliere (Mino-giizhig in Ojibwe),  a member of The Lake Superior Chippewa’s Lac du Flambeau band, as he foreshadows, What We Can Learn from a Wigwam: The Arts, Crafts, and Science of the Ancient Ojibwe. Wayne is a 2020 recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts National Heritage Fellowship, the nation’s highest honor awarded to those who keep folk and traditional arts alive. Wayne’s presentation will give us a glimpse into what lies ahead in our summer 2022 programming, “Living WITH the Northwoods!”

Arts on Tap is a free learning/lecture series. These events are free to attend and open to the public. Enjoy the conversation and grab a soft drink from our Inspiration Bar!

This is a Handbuilding class which means that instead of mainly using a pottery wheel, we will use slabs, a template, forms and other tools to create our monstera leaf bowls. The instructor will help you design your bowl and guide you through some different techniques to create your bowls. We can add a stem or handles to embellish the monstera leaf bowls.
Summer Weekly Clay Class: Bee Sweet! Small Round Vase

R.O.C.K. "Rock Out and Create" for Kids

This program is open to any junior high and high school students who enjoy music! Please bring your instrument(s) if you have one.
Meetings will consist of: group discussions learn everyone’s music tastes, discussion of which instruments everyone is interested in learning/already know how to play, learning new instruments, and start to learn new music together and/or have a quick group jam session.
