This service will be live streamed on Facebook.

FROM THE DEACONS

The Deacons would like to say a Giant THANK YOU to everyone who came to the Congregational Meeting. We appreciate you joining us and participating. We appreciate the questions and ideas.

The energy in our church is amazing and the joy we feel when we spend time together fills our hearts. Trinity is amazing and as we start the month of November, we want to be sure we let you know we are grateful for all of you!!

FROM THE STEWARDSHIP TEAM

November 17th. is Celebration Sunday - the day we turn in our pledge cards and celebrate all of our gifts of time, talent and treasure, with lunch. Lunch will be catered so we can all enjoy Fellowship time! Please join us!

FROM THE MINISTER OF MUSIC

Hello Trinity Church Community!

As we enter into November, I want to say a huge thank you to all of the musicians who have presented music for our worship services and the time everyone has put into preparing for it. It gives me great excitement for the month to come.

Take a look at what musical happenings are planned for November:

  • Nov 10 - Service Music and Special Music provided by Worship Band
  • Nov 17 - Rescheduled date of the Low Voice Ensemble for the Special Music.
  • Nov 24 - Special Music provided by myself along with musical selections supporting a theme of being Thankful.

In addition to the weekly services, don’t miss this month’s Coffee House Open Mic on November 15th at 7pm. I love getting to witness these nights because it is a part of the life of our building and the missions we do as a church. Plus, people are not there to be perfect. It’s genuine sharing of talents. We sometimes have a packed house, but there is always room for more.

Looking into the future, be sure to mark your calendars for December 22nd, which will be this year’s Lessons & Carols Service in the afternoon, as well as a special morning service performance from the Faith Formation Kids.

BREAKFAST FELLOWSHIP

Saturday Breakfast Fellowship for November will be on the 16th at 8:30 AM.

During our October discussion, we started talking about migrant farm workers, the wage they are paid, the conditions in which they live, the fruit and vegetable growers for whom they work, and whether or not they are better off with these jobs. I really don’t know much about the farm workers so I had to do quite a bit of research, using my favorite source of knowledge, Google. I learned that there are over 2 million farm workers in the US and they really are paid at the bottom of the wage scale.

For our November meeting, we’ll talk about migrant farm workers and how they are treated as they harvest our food.

If you want a head start on reading, search the web for “are migrant farm workers paid fair wages.” You will see many articles with lots of good reading. I’ll send out a list of readings as we get closer to the 16th.

We’ll have breakfast, fellowship, and talk about this on the 16th. Everyone is welcome to join us.

For more information or to add yourself to the Saturday Breakfast Fellowship email list, please contact Tom at tomdan4@gmail.com

FAITH FORMATIONS

"Children's Church" is scheduled for Sunday, November 10th and it is "Bring a Friend" to church day. We encourage all children to invite a friend to come along with them to church that day. There will be children's music time with Scott and also a 15 minute faith-based lesson which will take place in the 2nd floor classroom, across from the bathrooms.

The children who want to participate will leave the sanctuary with Faith Formations leaders during this time, and will return to their parents/guardians in the sanctuary before the end of the worship service. We hope to see you there!

STEEPLE AND EXTERIOR MAINTENANCE UPDATE

The Board of Deacons authorized the Exterior Restoration & Maintenance Task Force to submit an application to the Northborough Community Preservation Committee for a grant of $176,000 to assist in the restoration of the large sanctuary windows and the front doors of the church.

The Task Force has procured bids for that work, as well as for the painting and restoration of the exterior wood and trim of the building below the steeple.

Upon receipt of a report from the structural engineering firm that investigated the steeple, the Task Force expects to make recommendations for work on

the steeple.

If you have any questions or suggestions for the Task Force, please contact one of its members: Pete Carlsen, Jean Leif, Tom Danforth, Wally Corwin, Cheryl Silverberg, Beth Buckley or Tim Cashmore.

THE PRAYER SHAWL TEAM

We meet once a month at Trinity with knitting/crocheting hands to make shawls for our members in need of a “hug.” Blessed handmade items are delivered right to their home to warm the heart and soul. I have a simple knit pattern that can be made easily. It comes along with a card of encouraging words.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday November 20, 2024, 1 to 2 pm.

Our shawls and blankets have become quite popular and we need to keep on making more to comfort our members in need and the fellowship is great too!

ADULT PROGRAMS

GOAT YOGA - ONLY 1 MORE SESSION UNTIL SPRING!

Our goat yoga class is an amusing and unique yoga experience that combines traditional yoga practices with playful interactions with small goats. In this all-level class, yogis perform a series of poses while a herd of adorable, friendly goats roam freely around the area. They often interact with the participants, providing plenty of opportunities for giggles and delightful moments. These cute animals can sometimes climb onto the backs of yogis as they are in certain poses. The mixture of yoga and playful interactions with goats not only increases flexibility, strength, and balance but also improves mood and fosters a sense of calmness. It's not your usual yoga class, but it promises a whole load of laughs, happiness, and a truly unique experience for all participants.

PICKLEBALL LESSONS WITH SUZANNE -  SOME SPOTS STILL AVAILABLE IN JANUARY!

Beginner 1:

Players new or nearly new to the game of pickleball. The class will center on basic technical aspects of successfully playing the game of pickleball. In addition to rules of play, focus will include techniques for effective forehand shots, backhand shots, dinks, drops, serves, and return of serves. The class will also cover the more tactical skills of court positioning, transitions to non-volley zone, and non-volley zone play. The goal of the class is to give players the skills needed to reach the 2.5-player level.

Beginner 2:

Players who have completed a Beginner 1 pickleball course or have equivalent skills. The class will center on both the technical and tactical skills needed to advance from a 2.5 to a 3.0 player. Focus includes hitting medium-paced serves and volleys with direction and consistency; learning and using drop shots to reset gameplay and open shot opportunities; court positioning in different scenarios; understanding how to identify your strengths and your opponent's weaknesses to maximize point opportunities; and how to compete in a pickleball tournament.

Intermediate:

This class level is for the player who already has a basic understanding of the game and is trying to get to the next level. The focus will be on more effectively using challenging shots like the drop shot, increasing control of your shot placement, running set plays and scenarios, as well as developing more power in shots.
