Trinity Loves The Arts Celebrates a Successful First Concert

Trinity Loves The Arts was delighted with the success of its very first concert event featuring On The Trail. The talented and personable local musicians drew an enthusiastic crowd of 75 attendees, along with many loyal fans who helped create a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

Following the performance, guests enjoyed refreshments, conversation with the musicians, and the opportunity to purchase OTT merchandise. The reception signs invited everyone to “Y’all come!” — and happily, they did!

We are also pleased to share that the event successfully broke even, meeting our primary goal for this inaugural endeavor.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, volunteered, supported, and helped make the evening such a wonderful success. Trinity Loves The Arts will gather on Sunday to discuss future events and next steps.

I want to thank the Trinity Loves the Arts Team for a wonderful first event fully planned and produced by them. The concert last Sunday afternoon featuring the Bluegrass band On the Trail was meticulously organized, thoughtfully marketed, and nicely attended, and Anne Calmels once again created an inviting and generous atmosphere at the post-concert reception. I’m thrilled that our creative minds are coming together to create beauty for our church and community. The team has lots of ideas bubbling for the next projects, and I encourage you to join their informational huddles, one which will be taking place this Sunday at coffee hour. Thank you, Team, and I can’t wait to see what you’re cooking up next!

This Sunday is Mother’s Day and the annual gathering of our Women and Children’s Choir. All women and children are welcome to sing with us in a special song during worship. If you missed last Sunday’s rehearsal, just join us for a quick rehearsal before church at 9:00 in the sanctuary. The song is very easy to learn, and we’d love to have as many women and kiddos as possible!

See you Sunday!

Jennifer

Last week in Church School, we learned about the early believers who carried on Jesus’ teachings through worship and service. We explored how following Jesus can create unexpected possibilities. To illustrate this, we first counted how many cotton balls we could fit into an empty cup. Then we tried again with a cup filled with water and were able to fit nearly 30 more! Just as cotton expands by absorbing water, making room for more, following God helps us grow and makes space for more than we ever imagined possible.

This week we will be outside for Church School, weather permitting. We’ll gather as usual in the John Beach Classroom and then walk together to the memorial garden and gazebo area. Once outside, we will explore where God might be in nature and participate in a nature themed God-sighting scavenger hunt.

Please ensure your child brings a jacket in case it’s chilly. We will return to the sanctuary in time for communion.

Should you wish to make a donation to LL, please mail a check to First Congregational Church of Ridgefield (FCC), 103 Main Street, Ridgefield, Ct 06877. The memo line should read LLGD or click here.
