Blessing our New Roof and Renewed Ascension Window

Sunday, November 23rd at 10:45am

Dear Saints of Trinity Church,

Please join with me this coming Sunday, November 23rd, as we dedicate and bless our newly restored Ascension Window and Roof! We will share in this prayer and celebration immediately following worship.

We will begin in the Sanctuary after the Postlude, and process out the red doors to our front steps and walkway. And we are then invited to return for Coffee and Conversation!

We are so grateful for your support for these crucial capital projects, and we express our thanks to our Vestry and Property and Stewardship leaders who have guided us. “Now thank we All our God!!” The Sunday just before Thanksgiving is the right time to do this!

Blessings to All,

Rev. Andrea

Sunday, November 30th

Rev. Andrea will be away from Trinity on Sunday, November 30th. She will be gathering with extended family for a funeral service for her Mother, Wanda Finley Castner. Wanda died recently after a long illness.

Andrea and her family find comfort in believing she is reunited with Andrea's Father, the Rev. Dr. Edward Wallington Castner. Rev. Andrea is so grateful for the support of the Trinity parish family.

In this season of Thanksgiving, we celebrate the feast of Christ the King this Sunday as we finish our liturgical year. Can you believe this is our last Sunday before Advent? Christ the King Sunday is a day of celebration and a day of thanksgiving, and I always love combining the two themes as they fit together so beautifully. We’ll all be singing “Come Ye Thankful People, Come” and “All Praise to Thee, O King Divine”, the choir will sing an anthem of Thanksgiving, and we’ll have special music at communion from dynamic newlyweds Ron Dukenski and Beverly Sager. It will be a special morning!

In other news, I want to thank everyone who came out to experience the Light in the Music concert last Saturday. What an exciting evening of music it was, woven together by a journey of faith narrated by some of our wonderful Trinity readers. The performers were top-notch, and the audience was especially exuberant and supportive. A special thanks goes out to Anne Calmels for the beautiful reception she put together that evening. If you missed the concert, you can still watch the replay here! https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/1137749665

May you be blessed this week and remain in a spirit of thankfulness.

In Christ,

Jennifer

Last week we had a lot of fun learning about how Moses parted the Red Sea. To help us imagine what that might have been like, we tried a little science experiment using water, paper plates and pepper. First, we sprinkled pepper on top of the water and thought of ways to move all the pepper to one side of the plate without touching the plate or the water. After some creative guesses, we dipped a finger into dish soap and the pepper scattered to the edges, “parting the sea.” The kids loved seeing how science helped bring the Bible story to life!

This week we will be exploring what happened to Moses and God’s people after they crossed the Red Sea. God promised to continue to help them and gave us the Ten Commandments to guide us in living.

A quick reminder that Advent Merriment will take place downstairs during coffee hour on November 30th. Join us for paper Advent-wreath making, Christmas card decorating, and plenty of festive games. It is a great way to kick off Advent with the joy of our Trinity children. I hope to see you there!!
