A Time for Completion

The Ascension window and roof replacement projects are completed. These completions are a testament to the generosity and commitment to the Trinity mission of both present and former Trinity parishioners. As the 2026 Trinity Stewardship drive winds down, we are reminded that it is through stewardship that Trinity remains a force to carry on the message of Jesus Christ.

If you haven’t yet submitted your pledge for 2026, please consider completing your pledge by October 31. If you need help negotiating the pledging process, I will be at coffee hour after this Sunday’s service to help you complete the stewardship process.

I also look forward to seeing you all at the Breakfast Sunday on November 9th as we celebrate both the return of Reverend Andrea and the completion of the 2026 Stewardship pledge drive.

You can click the link below which will take you to the Trinity Pledge 2026 page. With a few clicks and taps your pledge will be complete.

The Great Pumpkin Challenge

This will be the 10th year that Trinity has hosted the Great pumpkin Challenge and all proceeds benefits the Hole in the Wall Gang camp, which provides joy, hope, and healing to children with serious illnesses and their families- completely free of charge.

The Great Pumpkin Challenge was originally founded in 2011 by Mackenzie Page as she was inspired to support her friend, Zoe McMorran, who was diagnosed with brain cancer. The youth of Trinity church gladly took over the project in 2016 when Mackenzie left for college.

The Hole in the wall gang camp was founded in 1988 by Paul Newman so children with serious illnesses could experience the camp experiences

Last year, we raised $1253 that was donated to Hole in the wall Gang Camp to help support Paul Newman’s vision of “a different kind of healing.”

A rewarding and fun afternoon of service on Nov 9

On November 9th, the Youth of Trinity along with Mission and Outreach will travel to New Haven to Chapel on the Green and hand out meals to those in need.

After our service at Trinity, we will make sandwiches in the kitchen at Trinity, pack up cold meal bags and go to New Haven. The event includes an outdoor service with music and communion and handing out food bags. We meet at 12:30 to carpool to the event.

Please join us in this rewarding fellowship, either by making sandwiches or joining us in New Haven at: Trinity on the Green, 230 Temple Street , New Haven, CT.

For all the saints who from their labors rest, who thee by faith before the world confessed; Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest. Alleluia!

Last Sunday’s Morning Prayer service ended up being quite festive with our Trinity kids dressed in costumes and leading us in a rousing version of “This Little Light of Mine”. Thank you to all the kids who participated, and thank YOU for singing with them and offering your boisterous support!

This Sunday, we move into our time of remembrance as we acknowledge All Saints’ Day and take a moment to prayerfully reflect on those we have lost and the eternal life that has been promised. The tone will be set by our own Carolyn Fagerholm who will sing the beautiful and moving Píe Jesu from the Duruflé Requiem, offering a quiet time of prayer before our opening hymn For All the Saints. The choir will sing a reverent and hopeful anthem, and names of our own saints will be read.

I often remind the choir that our objective through music is not to tell people what to feel, it is to help them open their hearts TO feel; to grieve, to hope, to worship, to heal. I pray that you will be there this Sunday and will allow the Holy Spirit to open your heart and let the music guide you in whatever way your heart needs.

See you on Sunday,

Jennifer

The children had a joyous time last Sunday showing off their festive costumes and singing “This Little Light of Mine,” during church! They learned how they can shine their light right where they are. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed getting creative painting pumpkins with all kinds of fun and colorful designs. What fun!

This week, we will be learning about God's promise to Abraham, to give him more descendants than stars in the sky. We are part of that great family of faith, which means we too are saints! And speaking of saints…as we celebrate All Saints Day this Sunday, we set aside time to remember those who have gone before us, both in our faith and in our families.

Parents, this can be a meaningful time to talk with your children about the people who have shaped your family’s faith journey whether they are grandparents, family members, teachers, or friends. Share stories about how those saints have helped you see God’s light, and remind your kids that they too can shine that same light for others.

Halloween Festivities – Community Outreach in Action

Our youth will once again be hosting our annual Halloween night event on Friday, October 31st, and we need all hands on deck! Every year, we open the church to the community for hospitality and to provide restroom access. It’s a popular and well-loved tradition, but it takes a team to pull it off.

We’ll have a volunteer sign-up available throughout October, and we’d love for both parents and youth to participate — especially in helping hand out candy and supporting the welcoming environment we aim to create.

Here’s the Halloween timeline:

  • October 31st (4:00–8:30 PM) – Halloween Night Event. Volunteers needed to assist with candy distribution, hospitality, and facility access.

Giving Back: Chapel on the Green – Sunday, November 9th

On Sunday, November 9th, our youth group will participate in Chapel on the Green, a mission-centered outreach where we serve meals to the homeless in New Haven. During our regular meeting time, we’ll make sandwiches and then travel together to New Haven for the service.

We usually return by 3:00 PM, and we encourage parents to join us — not only to share in the experience, but also to help with transportation, as parking is limited, and commuting together helps. This is a truly rewarding day of service and connection, and we hope to see a strong turnout.

With gratitude,

Noel Bellesheim & Frank LaBanca
