Defibrillator Training

As part of the new Parish Nurse program Trinity has purchased a new Automated External Defibrillator. We are excited to have this technology on site.

Immediate CPR with the usage of an AED can double, or even triple survival rates.  This machine is meant to be used by anyone. We will be offering classes for training by a CPR Instructor. The next training will be offered on Sunday, May 3rd after service in the Johnson Library and will take about 15 minutes. Please join us!!

Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!

Psalm 150: 1-6

There are many instances in scripture of references to music as a form of praise. In fact, there are over 400 references to singing and roughly 50 direct commands to praise the Lord through music!

I love this passage from Psalm 150 because we are provided with a literal list of different musical ways to worship through music. It’s almost as if the psalmist was receiving pushback from parishioners who told him, “but I have no musical talent!” His answer was something like, “Oh stop. You could bang that drum or play your whistle or even dance!” You might remember our Church School kids entering the Trinity sanctuary on Palm Sunday with their various instruments and noisemakers. They were actually putting Psalm 150 into action in their own way. So, then, how can you, too, worship through music here at Trinity?

You can sing in worship, you can sing in the choir (no experience necessary!), or you can play an instrument either as a solo or in a group. If you have any desire to level-up your musical worship, please reach out to me or find me after church, and I’ll help you find ways to get your Psalm 150 on!

In Christ,

Jennifer

As we continue to live into Easter-tide, church school resumes this Sunday. We will be exploring the story of the Risen Christ. At the beginning of Lent, our classroom decorated a box filled with “Alleluias.” We talked about how this special word means “praise to God,” and how we refrain from saying it during Lent. After coloring our own Alleluias, we hid the box away. But now that Easter has arrived, it is time to find the hidden Alleluia box! We will get to break open the “empty tomb,” so our Alleluias can be joyfully shouted once again.

Looking ahead, we will spend time with the stories of the early christian Church as we head into Pentecost. We will discover how the Holy Spirit brought energy, and courage to our community of believers, and how that same Spirit is at work in us today.

Join us for a screening of Communion, a powerful and personal film about faith, identity, and belonging. After being fired from his Catholic school job for marrying his husband, a music teacher turns to art and storytelling to confront exclusion and rediscover hope. A live conversation will follow the screening.

begun on Sunday mornings.

If you arrive after 9:45 on Sunday, please enter through the historic red doors on Main
