Workcamp Presentation
The Newtown Ecumenical Workcamp Servants (N.E.W.S) will be joining Trinity again this Sunday to share about their volunteer experience of working with organizations to help keep people safe, warm and dry. This year the 30 students from Newtown High School will be going to Eagle Butte, South Dakota, to partner with the Cheyenne River Youth Project on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation. Any donations of any size are greatly appreciated to support their good work! Thank you! N.E.W.S Advisory Board.

Reflections on American History
As part of Trinity's commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, join us in the library after worship on June 7 for a presentation by Bob Gardner entitled "Reflections on American History". Bob, who has taught the subject for many years at different levels, will share some thoughts about how he sees our past and how it has molded us today.

THANK YOU!
The Women & Children’s Choir sang so beautifully and with so much heart last Sunday. Thank you to all who joined us! This has become such a wonderful multi-generational tradition that always fills our sanctuary with so much love.
RITE II by RON DUKENSKI
This Sunday and next, we have another special treat: Our own Ron Dukenski will share music from a mass setting that he composed in 1981. A little bit of background on Ron’s work:
In the late 1970’s, a time when the Episcopal Church was exploring revisions to the BCP and hymnal, Ron had an idea. As the revised BCP was introduced in 1979, Ron was inspired to write service music for Rite II that would use more accessible language than the formal language and “thee’s and thou’s” of Rite I. At the time, Ron was the organist and chorus master at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Monroe, CT, and they embraced his Rite II service music, as did other parishes. Ron’s music was most recently introduced to our congregation sometime in the 1990’s, and I am so happy that you will have the opportunity to hear it over the next two weeks. Ron will lead us in those pieces of music, and even if you don’t pick up the tunes right away, I know you will still find it worshipful. Thank you, Ron, for sharing your talents with us!
CELEBRATING OUR HISTORY
As we acknowledge and celebrate our nation’s 250th, we also are highlighting music by American composers. This week, our choir sings a little twist on the theme of Ascension with an anthem that focuses on where Jesus went and our anticipation and excitement to someday be with him there. The song “Just Over in the Glory Land” was first published in 1906 in the hymnal Glad Hosannas- A Winnowed Collection of New and Old Songs for Christian Work and Worship. It was written by Texan songwriters James Acuff and Emmet Dean, and while it has its roots in Southern Gospel music, it has been adapted for various American styles including bluegrass and New Orleans jazz. Our Trinity Choir will sing an uplifting and toe-tapping choral arrangement of this song on Sunday, and I hope you’ll be there!
See you Sunday!

Last week in Church School, we had fun exploring the gifts God has given us in nature! Our group ventured down to the lower garden and gazebo to discover signs of creation right in our own backyard. We talked about how God’s world is everywhere; in the sky and grass, birds and worms, trees, and even people. Together, we reflected on how we can be caretakers of God’s creation and explored ways we can help make God’s natural world a better place.
Looking ahead to this week, we will continue our journey through the early church as we learn about Paul’s encounter with God and how he used God’s light for good in the world. We will also brainstorm a list of the people in our lives who help us grow in faith and think about who we want to pray for. Since Easter is a season of new life, we will celebrate by creating butterflies out of coffee filters. Be on the lookout for these colorful creatures around church!

Starting June 1st- Mondays and Saturdays at 10:30am at the Gazebo.
Stroller Cardio, Sculpt & Strength is a program created for moms (and pregnant mamas to be), to exercise with their little ones in strollers. This workout class combines total body exercises, core, and cardio. It offers a chance for women to rebuild strength, connection, and community. No equipment needed, a water bottle and a towel are encouraged.
Safety and Details: For the safety of everyone attending class, the children are required to remain securely strapped into the stroller for the entire 30-40 min workout. Please bring any snacks, toys, etc., to keep kids engaged. We understand babies are on their own schedule sometimes, so the feeding, changing, etc. can be done before or after the workout. Please dress yourself and child according to weather.
