Check out our interactive map on the ULC website to learn about the operating status of our members and find links to individual COVID-19 member resource pages.

Meet ULC's Newest Member
La Porte County Public Library

ULC is pleased to welcome La Porte County Public Library as the newest addition to our member community. With seven locations in northwest Indiana, the library serves as a center of community life with a focus on reading, lifelong learning and public involvement.
Turning Branches into Food Banks
Toronto Public Library

Nine Toronto Public Library branches are now operating as temporary service locations for city food banks. The library has also transformed a large book distribution center into a food packaging warehouse where staff can pack 850 food hampers in two hours.

Helping Patrons Access Unemployment Forms
Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library

With unemployment claims surging in Florida, Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library is stepping in to help patrons access and mail in unemployment forms. The library is providing paper forms to patrons via drive-thru service at two branch locations. Once patrons fill out the forms, staff from the library will mail them out to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity at no charge.
ULC Library Leaders Win PLA Elections

Earlier this week, PLA announced the results of its 2020 election. Congratulations to the following ULC member library leaders for being elected to serve in three-year PLA leadership roles.

  • Melanie Huggins (Executive Director, Richland Library) will serve as PLA President.
  • Stephanie Chase (Former Director of Libraries, Hillsboro Public Library) will serve as ALA Division Councilor.
  • Brandy A. McNeil (Associate Director, Tech Education, New York Public Library) and Dara Hanke Schmidt (Library Director, Cedar Rapids Public Library) will serve as PLA Directors-at-Large.
