Digital Equity Leadership: Mapping a Path Forward Leaders Discussion

ULC's Director of Edge Lourdes Aceves leads an interactive leaders discussion with Baltimore County Public Library’s Director Sonia Alcántara-Antoine and Greensboro Public Library’s Director Brigitte Blanton — two members of ULC’s Digital Equity action team – who have dedicated the past year to mapping out the greatest challenges and opportunities for fostering digital equity in communities.

Behind the Walls Mail-in Reference Services Program
Miami-Dade Public Library System

With MDPLS' Behind the Walls Mail-in Reference Services Program, staff prepare written responses from library patrons to send to those who are currently incarcerated via mail. These letters include topics ranging from pop culture to job readiness tools, assisting underserved incarcerated individuals safely in the midst of the pandemic.

Columbia Women: A Walking Tour
Richland Library

Richland Library is celebrating National Women’s History Month by offering a walking tour for patrons highlighting local women — librarians, teachers, poets and Civil Rights activists. Starting and ending at the main library location, patrons can learn more about those women who have made a huge impact on the South and Columbia.
The Future (and Past) is Female
Poudre River Public Library District

Poudre River Public Library District is providing book recommendations and historical photographs that accompany the profiles of remarkable women in Northern Colorado during Women’s History Month. The mix of choices includes literature written by the women highlighted as well as movies and films that align with their life’s work.
International Women's Day: Breaking Barriers to Education
Calgary Public Library

In honor of National Women’s History Month, Calgary Public Library is offering a special event this week for patrons featuring Indigenous, Black and Immigrant womxn. Speakers will discuss ways to avoid tokenism and explore collective responses in breaking barriers to education in Calgary and globally.
SHORT FILM CONTEST ABOUT LIBRARIES
The 12th edition of the contest “A corto di libri. Short of books: short films tell about libraries” is now open. The contest is organized by the Italian Library Association (AIB) with the support of Pikes Peak Library District, in collaboration with Del Vecchio and Gallucci publishers, IFLA Metropolitan Libraries Section and MLOL MediaLibraryOnLine. The deadline to submit is April 26, 2022.
