REVISIT ULC'S ANTI-RACISM WEBINAR
Last month, ULC presented the second convening of our Finding Our Way Forward Together: Advancing Libraries as Anti-Racist Leaders series. Featured panelists Jennie Pu (Director, Hoboken Public Library), Pamela McCarter (Equity Initiative Leader/Library Outreach Specialist, Charlotte Mecklenburg Library) and Alison McKee (County Librarian, Contra Costa County Library) shared insights from the anti-racism journeys of their libraries and discussed ways to build trust with staff, allot time to do EDI work and how to address fatigue.
SPOTLIGHT ON INNOVATION
Community Pantry
Anne Arundel County Public Library

AACPL's Discoveries: the Library at the Mall opened their Community Pantry to help meet the needs of their community by distributing diapers, wipes, menstrual products and other hygiene supplies. While providing these supplies, the library is also able to cross-promote library cards and other free community resources for patrons.

We continue our growth in 2022 by welcoming Sacramento Public Library (SPL) and Santa Clara City Library (SCCL) to ULC! SPL is the fourth largest library system in California, serving 1.4 million residents and offering services and programming focused on early learning, technology and creation. Serving the county of Santa Clara, Calif., SSCL enriches lives and strengthens community through lifelong learning, discovery and creativity.
New Community Partnership Offers Indigenous Programming
Brooklyn Public Library

Brooklyn Public Library and The Lenape Center announced a series of programs and forthcoming anthology of Indigenous scholarship in accompany to the first-ever Lenape-curated exhibition in New York, Lenapehoking. The exhibition tells the story of the Lenape community — historically the first inhabitants of the greater New York region — through poetry readings, artist talks and panel discussions.
Celebrating International Women's Day
Markham Public Library

Markham Public Library honored International Women’s Day 2022 by curating special book collections of memoirs telling the firsthand accounts of women, literature about women who have changed the world and feminist literature supporting the diverse experiences of womanhood in BIPOC and femme-identifying communities.

FREE SUMMER PLANNING BOOTCAMP
March 30-31, 2022
National Summer Learning Association

Later this month, NSLA is providing a free virtual Summer Planning Bootcamp to offer tools and best practices to help stem the impact of learning loss from the pandemic. Library staff working with youth during the summer months are encouraged to attend the free sessions, which will provide guidance in building critical partnerships and offer successful strategies to support youth.
