All Saints' Sunday

On October 29, we will celebrate All Saints' Sunday at Westerville Community United Church of Christ. If you have lost someone dear to you within the last year, we would like to honor them during a special part of our worship service.

If you wish for us to lift up your loved one by sharing their name and photo and lighting a candle in their memory, please email Debbie Kellogg by October 24. Be sure to provide your loved one's name as you'd like it to appear in the bulletin and include a photograph we can share during the service. If you would like to drop a photo at church or in the mail, we will digitize it and return it to you. We look forward to remembering the saints who have gone before us.

Mission Opportunities

Blood Drive - October 19

The Mission Board is sponsoring a blood drive from noon until 6:00 pm on October 19. Click here to set up a donation time.

Local Mission Project

October 26, 27, 28

Each year, our Local Mission team leaders reach out into our community to help those in need of home repairs they otherwise couldn't afford.

This year, we will be helping at St. Paul UCC church in Merion Village, near German Village. The small congregation is working on bringing in new members while faithfully serving their diverse community and could use some help sprucing up their church.

If you would like to help one or more days, please click here.

The Heartland Conference’s first Creation Care and Environmental Justice Retreat was a big success! The event was held on Saturday, October 14, at the Templed Hills Camp and Retreat Center in Bellville. Forty-eight pastoral and lay members from 14 churches around the conference were in attendance, including David Long-Higgins, Conference Minister; Rev. Brooks Berndt, National UCC Minister for Environmental Justice; and the keynote speaker, Rev. Michael Howard, Minister of Faith in Action at the Living Water Association of the Heartland Conference.

Lynda Huey and Hank Stonerook represented WCUCC at the event. The retreat included several workshops on a variety of topics, resources to start or expand church green teams, inspirational music, and an outdoor worship service. This was the first in-person event held by the Creation Care team, which was formed in 2019.

There are opportunities to participate in environmental activities at WCUCC, at the conference level, and with the national office of the UCC.

This is a great way to meet folks in the UCC and share experiences with environmental and other matters of the church. The UCC is so much more than our local congregation at WCUCC. I encourage you to explore opportunities to connect and become inspired in greater church activities!

There's still time to submit a photo for the church directory. You can schedule a session at:

  • October 24-28---Grove City UMC, 2684 Columbus St., Grove City
  • November 1---St. Mark's UMC, 5200 Sullivant Ave., Columbus
  • November 2-4---Grove City UMC, 2684 Columbus St., Grove City

To make an appointment at an alternate location, just call Universal Church Directories at 419-522-5011. Tell them that you are from Westerville Community United Church of Christ and that our church code is oh2675.

Or email a photo to [email protected] by October 31.
