Planning for the Next Church School Year
Calling all parents of rising 7th through 12th graders! Fr James and Gabriel Ellsworth invite you to a brief meeting after the 9:00 Mass this Sunday, June 3 in the Frisby Room. They will discuss plans for the 2018-2019 Church School year for the youth of our parish. Please plan to attend this gathering and learn about what is in store for next year.

Mission & Outreach Needs You!
A brainstorming and planning session is scheduled for  this Sunday, June 3 , focusing on mission and outreach efforts at the Advent. If you are mission and outreach minded please consider attending this meeting.

Proposals for mission projects and events will be outlined and discussed for the next year. All ideas and input is welcomed. The meeting follows the 11:15 AM Mass and is being held in the Library.

Pastoral Assistant Eric Fialho has been overseeing mission and outreach endeavors at the Advent over this past year. Eric is looking to gather together a team of people who are willing to help volunteer to work and to implement a series of projects and events in the upcoming year. If you are interested in being a part of mission and outreach at the Advent and you cannot attend the meeting please contact Eric at
Coming Up: Parish Picnic!

PICNIC! PICNIC! PICNIC! Next Sunday, June 10, we will have a summertime picnic in the Garden following the 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Masses.  The Advent will provide hot dogs with all the trimmings and drinks of various kinds. We ask members of the Parish to bring hors d'oeuvres, salads, and desserts. Pray for good weather and feel free to dress appropriately.
Musical Notes
Many, many thanks to our nine o'clock Parish Choir for their choral work this year. Their contribution to our worship is immeasurable. They begin their summer break today, but please express your thanks to choir members personally when you spy them in the pews or at coffee hour!

Our Summer Choir season begins this Sunday. A reduced choir will sing for the 11:15 Solemn Mass, offering motets and mass settings, until Sunday, July 1, when a soloist will sing for four Sundays. On August 5, the summer choir returns. Repertoire lists can be found at

Sunday's Collect
O God, whose never-failing providence ordereth all things both in heaven and on earth: We humbly beseech thee to put away from us all hurtful things, and to give us those things which are profitable for us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
