Relief Efforts in Nepal
URGENT // Please Give to Support Relief Efforts in Nepal // On the morning of April 25, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal killing over 5000 people and causing severe damage across the small, poor nation. This past week, another devastating quake occurred, inflicting more damage and loss of life. Episcopal Relief & Development responds to urgent needs - like those for food, clean water and shelter - through the ACT Alliance in Nepal and with partners in surrounding areas in northern India and southwest China. The Advent has already responded with a donation from its Mission & Outreach budget, but so much more is needed. Can you help? To support disaster response where it is most needed, please donate to the Disaster Response Fund: http://www.episcopalrelief.org/what-you-can-do/donate-now/.

Spring Cleaning Clothing Drive for Solutions at Work - through June 14 - A New Opportunity! // Advent parishioner Adam Oliveri is a professional wardrobe consultant, personal shopper, and more - and has generously offered a discount for his services to any parishioners who would like his expertise and assistance in a closet clean-out and wardrobe makeover.  See more at adamtoliveri.com.  Whether you work with Adam or do this on your own, we are looking for men's and women's professional attire and accessories, and children's school clothing. Out-of-season items are accepted.  All must be clean, unstained, and wearable.  A full list of items suitable for donation is on the clothes rack, or at solutionsatwork.org, or speak with Deacon Daphne.

Coming Up: Special Entr'acte Session
A Very Special Entr'acte - Children's Spiritual Formation at the Advent: On Trinity Sunday, May 31, Emily Litman will present a special Entr'acte at approximately 10:15 am in the Library to demonstrate the method of spiritual formation we use with our children at the Advent. The ancient tradition of storytelling has been used for thousands of years to pass on traditions and capture children's imaginations. Using a storytelling method called "Godly Play," Bible stories come alive in our Church School - our kids don't just hear the stories, they are engaged visually and physically. Each week, our children and their teachers enter into a story and become part of it. Under Emily's direction, we have used this method for several years to great success at the Advent, and members of the parish not directly involved in Church School are urged to take advantage of this special opportunity to learn about the wonderful things taking place upstairs every Sunday.

Sunday's Collect
O God, the King of glory, who hast exalted thine only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph unto thy kingdom in heaven: We beseech thee, leave us not comfortless, but send to us thine Holy Ghost to comfort us, and exalt us unto the same place whither our Savior Christ is gone before; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the same Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.
