Daylight Saving Time Ends this weekend! Remember to turn your clocks BACK ONE HOUR Saturday night or you will be very early for church. (Not that there's anything wrong with being early...)

Entr'acte this Sunday
This Sunday at Entr'acte, our adult education series, our resident Biblical scholar, Rick Stone, concludes with the last of a three-part study of accounts in the Book of Genesis. This morning he will examine the puzzling and disturbing account of Abraham and Isaac (Genesis chapters 22:1-19). Entr'acte takes place just after the 9:00 Mass in the Library. Next week we will consider the puzzling account of Abraham and Isaac.

To conclude Entr'acte for the year, Fr Warren will lead a three-part examination of various sects within what is called Christianity: what they believe, what they practice, how they differ from Classical Christianity. Sundays, November 18 and 25, December 9.

"One Warm Coat" Drive
One Warm Coat-Coat Drive Update-Drive ends November 17. To date, we have received 26 coats toward our goal of 100. Thanks to all who have contributed. If you haven't yet had a chance to check your closets for gently worn, clean winter coats and jackets, please do so now. We're also glad to accept donations of dollars: $5 can provide 10 coats. Of course, all donations are tax deductible! Gratefully, Deacon Noyes

"Between the Eagle's Heads" Film Screening
This Thursday, November 8, Between the Eagle's Heads, a film by Advent Parishioner Sam Audette, will be shown in the Library at 7:30 pm. Everyone is invited. Sam made the film for his Bachelor's thesis at the University of Chicago. Shortly afterwards, it won a prize in the Best Shorts Competition and was featured in the Global Peace Film Festival, an organization which seeks to use films to promote understanding among various people and cultures which are markedly different, even antagonistic.

Sam describes his film in this way. "I wanted to capture something of the Islamic legacy in Spain, and in Toledo, as I felt at this moment a great civilization was being left out of the dialogue. I ended up aiming to portray something of the joys of wandering as well."

Sunday's Collect
Almighty God, who hast knit together thine elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of thy Son Christ our Lord: Grant us grace so to follow thy blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living, that we may come to those ineffable joys which thou hast prepared for those who unfeignedly love thee; through the same Jesus Christ our Lord, who with thee and the Holy Spirit liveth and reigneth, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.
