An Important Message from the Wardens
As mentioned in our letter to the Parish earlier this month, the Parish Questionnaire prepared by the Search Committee and approved by the Vestry is about to be circulated to Parishioners. Members of the parish should have already received a letter from the Wardens in their mailboxes this past week, which includes instructions for completing the questionnaire. The mailing also provides information on how to confirm or supply your email address, so that we can send out a personal link to the questionnaire by email, as the questionnaire is being conducted online. There will also be information on how you can request a paper copy of the questionnaire, if you strongly prefer to use that medium.

C. Thomas Brown & Paul J. Roberts, Wardens.

Entr'acte this Sunday
This Sunday morning at Entr'acte, our adult education series, our resident Biblical scholar, Rick Stone, will begin a three-part study of the 2nd chapter of the Book of Genesis, a crucial and fascinating text. This will take place on Sundays, October 21 and 28 and November 4. That's just after the 9:00 Mass in the Library.

To conclude Entr'acte for the year, Fr Warren will lead a three-part examination of various sects within what is called Christianity: what they believe, what they practice, how they differ from Classical Christianity. Sundays, November 18 and 25, December 9.

Evensong & Benediction
Max Reger (1913)
Evensong & Benediction & Organ Recital - This Sunday afternoon at 4:30, organist Janet Yieh , from Trinity Wall Street, offers music of Mendelssohn, Elgar, Beach and Duruflé.

At 5 pm, the Advent Choir will sing Evensong, including the St Paul's Service of Herbert Howells. Following the service, a light supper will be served, and Mark Dwyer will offer a brief talk on the colorful lives of this evening's composers: Basil Harwood, Max Reger and Howells.
Advent 20s and 30s

Advent 20 & 30-Somethings: Please come Wednesday, October 24, at 6 pm to Mass and stay afterwards for our traditional 20s & 30s martinis and pizza in the library, which will start with drinks and snacks at approximately 6:45 or 7 pm with pizza to follow shortly thereafter. This is our first Mass and Martinis of the new season, so it would be lovely to have a good showing from the "old" 20s & 30s to welcome some of our newer members. We hope to see you there!

(P.S. Evening prayer is said before Mass at 5:30 p.m., so do come along to that if the Spirit moves you so to do.) With any questions please contact Kyriell Palaeologue at [email protected] or 617-396-6225.

Coming Up: Ghost Stories
M. R. James
Ghost Stories for an Autumn's Night-Friday, October 26, at 7:30 pm. Ghost Stories returns again to the Advent this year. Two tales of terror by medievalist and master writer M. R. James will be told by candlelight in the library. Several haunting medieval songs will be sung by soprano Elise Groves. Ports and cheeses will be on hand for nibbling and sipping for this night of a most pleasing terror. Tickets are $15.00 through Eventbrite or $20.00 at the door. All proceeds go to help Mission and Outreach ministries at the Parish.

Sunday's Collect
Almighty God, who didst inspire thy servant Luke the physician to set forth in the Gospel the love and healing power of thy Son: Graciously continue in thy Church the like love and power to heal, to the praise and glory of thy Name; through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
