Entr'acte Returns!
This morning, Entr'acte, our adult education series, resumes after its summer recess. Father Warren will begin a two-part look at what he calls Classical Christianity. First, the Teaching and then, the next Sunday, October 14, the Practice of Classical Christianity.

Following that, our resident Biblical scholar, Rick Stone, will lead a three part study of the 2nd chapter of the Book of Genesis, a crucial and fascinating text. This will take place on Sundays, October 21 and 28, and November 4.

To conclude Entr'acte for the year, Fr. Warren will lead a three-part examination of various sects within what is called Christianity: what they believe, what they practice, how they differ from Classical Christianity. Sundays, November 18 and 25, December 9.

Blessing of the Animals

This Sunday afternoon, October 7, there will be a blessing of the animals at 3 PM in the chancel. Bring your furred, feathered, scaly, 2-, 4-, or no-footed friend in for a short service and blessing!

Theology on Tap returns on Thursday, October 11 (note the unusual day) at 7pm at the MAST Restaurant and Drinkery, the Lower Bar, 45 Province Street, Boston.

Our guest speaker is Dr Sister Vassa Larin, a Russian Orthodox liturgist, author of a monograph on Byzantine liturgy, scholarly articles, as well as inspirational commentaries on the Scripture and Liturgy, "Reflections with Morning Coffee."  Since 2013 Sr Vassa has hosted a popular video channel and a catechetical online podcast, "Coffee with Sr Vassa."

In her talk at Theology on Tap, Sr Vassa will explore the types of community offered by the reality called Church, and by the virtual reality of the worldwide web and its social media.  She will also address issues of loneliness and solitude, and how they are affected by the realities of Church and Internet.  Theology on Tap is preceded  by Evening Prayer at Church at 30 Brimmer Street at 5:30 pm.

Coming Up: Ghost Stories

Sunday's Collect
Almighty and everlasting God, who art always more ready to hear than we to pray, and art wont to give more than either we desire or deserve: Pour down upon us the abundance of thy mercy, forgiving us those things whereof our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things which we are not worthy to ask, but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord; who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
