Farewell, Julie Goodchild
The entire Cincinnati Sports Club would like to thank Club manager Julie Goodchild for 17 wonderful years of care and service to our members, staff, and guests. Club members are invited to a farewell reception this Friday, 6/30 from 10am-12pm in the Club lobby to wish her well. 

Thank you again for all the amazing times, growth, and memories together. We will miss you! 

Social Events
Friday Happy Hour This Week
The Cool Critters are headed to Happy Hour this Friday, 6/30 at 5:30pm with a gang of live animals to hang out for the evening. It's another foam pit party by the pool, with live pop, folk, and blues music by Anna and the Deeper Well. Allyn's Café is serving free food by the bite at 5:30pm while they last. 

Happy Hour is open to all-inclusive and summer members, and guests are welcome with standard guest fees. It's the first party of the holiday weekend, come start your festivities here at the Club.

4th of July Block Party
The 4th is next Tuesday - what are your plans? We're hosting our second-annual 4th of July Block part at the Club; come for a swim, grab a bite to eat, and catch Garcia and Scott live at 6pm. The Ault Park fireworks begin at 10pm - the view from the lawn is amazing, the parking is easy, and the crowds are non-existent. 

Guests are welcome, but guest fees apply. It's the best place to be for the festivities, so come grab your seat early.

Tasting Event with Funky's Catering
When special events in Cincinnati seek culinary design services to feed their guests, they've turned to Funky's Catering for the past 15 years. Funky's is bringing their creative fare to the Club on Tuesday, 6/18 at 6pm for the July Third Tuesday Tasting event, with live music by Pete Pappania in the Staircase Lounge. The event is free to attend and for adults only, so Market Café will host an optional wine tasting for $5. 

Bring a guest - members can bring one for free, too. This event fills up quickly, so email Michael Downs to register by Monday, 6/10 at 12pm. 

Club Sports
Home Swim Meets - Outdoor Pool Closes Early
intense-swimmer.jpg The first home swim meets are set for Thursday, 7/6 against Delshire Swim Club, and Tuesday, 7/11 against Western Tennis and Fitness. The pool closes at 5pm, warm-ups start at 5:30pm, and the meet starts at 6:30pm. The matches are free to watch if you'd like to come cheer for the team.
  


Adult Tennis Instruction
The third session of adult tennis clinics began this Monday, but rates can be pro-rated for latecomer participants. Daytime, evening and weekend instruction is available for players of all ages and skill levels; grab a brochure at the Club, or email Jeff Roman for more information.
  


Group Fitness 
4th of July Class Schedule
Next Tuesday, 7/4, will have a limited number of group fitness classes scheduled: 
  • 9am: Club Spin with Erik 
  • 9am: Barre Sculpt with Allana 
  • 9:15am: Club Circuit with Adi 
  • 10am: Splash with Sherry 
  • 10:30am: Body Pump with Lindsay 

All other group classes are cancelled for the holiday.  

 



Class Schedule Updates  
  • Spin on Wednesdays at 12:15pm will be taught by Kelly B. 
  • Yoga II on Mondays at 7:15pm will be taught by Trisha  
  • Yoga II on Saturdays at 8am and 9:05am will be taught by Stacy 
  • Girls Fit on Fridays has been cancelled due to low attendance.


Easy Spin Class 
By popular request, we're offering an easy, smooth ride on the bikes for participants that want a less-competitive spin class. It's perfect for beginners and older adults who need less intensity in their spin workout. The Class will begin on July 7 and be held on Friday's at 12:15pm with Bill H, come early if you've never ridden before, and bring a towel and a water bottle.
  


B.U.F.F. Class 
Kelly Bettinger brings high-energy training to the Club with B.U.F.F., or Boys Ultimate Fitness Fun. It's a fitness class for boys aged 9 and up who want to get stronger, focusing on all-around fitness, athletic endurance, speed, and agility. The first six-week session is free to members, and classes take place on Thursdays at 4pm, beginning on 7/6. Email Lynda Wilisch for more information.
  


PiYo Class
This challenging Pilates-inspired yoga fitness class continues on Thursdays at 5:30pm through July. It helps define long, lean muscles with fast-paced style yoga movements to build strength, balance and mobility. No registration required, free to attend.
  


Health & Wellness
Hernia Education Event 
The Christ Hospital specializes in treatment of simple and complex hernias, and they're hosting an educational event about them on Wednesday, 7/12 from 7pm-9pm. Jonathan Schilling, MD, and Gina Maccarone, MD are speaking and answering questions about different types of hernias and treatment options to help you get back on track. Register at any desk in the Club at least 24 hours in advance if you'd like to attend.

Shoe Fitting 
Finding the perfect fit for a running shoe can completely change your fitness game. Schedule a free shoe fitting on Thursday, 7/13 from 6pm-8pm; bring your old shoes, receive with a gait analysis and foot measurement, and leave with a prescription for your perfect fit. Register at any desk for more information.

 

Free Injury Screening
Consult a professional about injuries and setbacks with a free injury screening from Vic Troha, CSC Wellness Clinician. Register at the fitness desk for a session with him on:  
  • Thursday, 6/29 from 12pm-2pm 
  • Thursday, 7/6 from 4pm-6pm 
  • Wednesday, 7/12 7:30am-9:30am

Professional Bra Fitting
Sports bras aren't accessories - they're equipment. Our resident expert Karen has 15 years in the fitting business, and will be giving free sizing screenings on Monday, 7/17 from 6pm-8pm, with a variety of sports bras on-hand for purchase at 10% off. Visit any desk at the Club to sign up for your session.

 

Fuel Your Summer Fun
Have you seen the HMR meals and info around the Club? They've helped 35 members lose 665 pounds in 20 weeks together. All it takes is a simple diet shift to healthy shakes and entrees, fresh fruits and vegetables, and a personal exercise plan for a well-rounded regimen. Youth Programs 
Imagine It, Build It Week
It's back to the science behind building and stacking with Imagine It, Build It week at Kidsports Camp. The Drake Planetarium is the adventure destination for our in-house field trip, so we'll imagine and build things together with the Lego Lab. Camp runs this week and every week thereafter through the summer, with 9am-2pm and 9am-4pm times available. Email youth director Carolynn Dreyer or visit the Children's Center to register.

 

Summer Tumbling Classes
Summer tumbling with The Little Gym is now open for enrollment to kids aged 10 months to 10 years. Classes are held at the Club, and CSC members receive a 20% discount on registration.

Kid's June Fitness Classes
Bring your kids to Ninja Fitness this month! Class takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:30pm for kids aged 5-8; kids aged 9-13 can join on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:15pm, and Saturdays at 10am. We're also hosting a Kid's Boot Camp for children aged 5-8 on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:15am, and Saturdays at 9am. Email Lynda Wilisch for more information.

Rent a Cabana
cabanasHanging out by the pool this summer? Rent a cabana on the pool deck for your own exclusive experience. Cabana rentals are available in sessions from open to 4pm, and again from 4pm to close every day. The reservation fee is $30, and can only be made seven days in advance. Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of the reservation date to avoid the full balance charge. Email Heather Maloney for more information.
