BUSINESS AS (UN)USUAL VIRTUAL 5K
The Chamber is hosting the Business as (Un)Usual Virtual 5K on Memorial Day Weekend, May 22 through May 25. Sign-up to walk, run, skip, gallop, or saunter for the equivalent of 5 kilometers/3.10686 miles while respecting social distancing guidelines. Then, share your journey with us through email and/or social media post. We're using the honor system!

The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Business as (Un)Usual Virtual 5K is sponsored by Pool Pros and Aqua Illusions. 

$20 to participate, includes t-shirt*
Free for kids 12 and under (shirt not included, but available for purchase)

FLORIDA FULL PHASE 1
Full Phase 1   of Florida's re-opening became effective on Monday, May 18, 2020. To read the Governor's Executive Order for Full Phase 1, click here.
RESTAURANTS/FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS
May increase indoor capacity to 50% with proper social distancing. Outdoor seating is encouraged.

RETAIL
May operate up to 50% capacity indoors.

BARBER SHOPS, HAIR SALONS & NAIL SALONS
May operate while adhering to safety protocols.

MUSEUMS & LIBRARIES
May operate up to 50% capacity if permitted by local governments. Lee County Library branches are offering contactless curbside holds pickup . Branches are closed but they are always open online .

SCHOOLS
Students continue with distance learning.

GYMS & FITNESS CENTERS
May operate up to 50% capacity. Self-sanitize machines and surfaces after use.

PROFESSIONAL SPORTS VENUES
Professional sports teams are welcome in Florida. Professional sports venues may open and operate for games, events and training.

LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES
Visitation is prohibited. Hospitals are required to test all individuals prior to discharge to long-term care facilities. Long-term care facilities required to transfer COVID-19 positive residents if facility is not equipped for appropriate care.

ELECTIVE SURGERIES
May continue if a facility has adequate PPE, hospital bed surge capacity and works within the local community to prevent and/or contain outbreaks in long-term care facilities.

AMUSEMENT PARKS
May submit re-opening plan to the State.

VACATION RENTALS
Counties may seek approval to operate vacation rentals by submitting a written request and County vacation rental safety plan to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
OVERALL GUIDELINES

  • Vulnerable individuals should avoid close contact with people outside the home
  • All individuals, when in public, should maximize physical distance from others
  • Avoid settings of 10 people or more that do not readily allow for physical distancing
  • Face masks are recommended for all face-to-face interactions and situations where you can't social distance

We have launched a new initiative to help us, help our businesses and community: the 144 Envelope Adventure!

 Each envelope is numbered from $1 to $144, and the dollar amount determines the number of entries in the drawing. For example, for $6 you get 6 chances, for $49 you get 49 chances, etc.
