WORKFORCE HOUSING PANEL THIS WEEK
The Chamber luncheon this Thursday, October 21 will feature a Workforce Housing Panel Discussion. The event is being held at Embassy Suites by Hilton Fort Myers-Estero, located at 10450 Corkscrew Commons Drive in Estero, from 11:30AM-1:00PM.

Attendees will hear from a panel of guest speakers, including Becky Lucas, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties, Phillip Ford, executive vice president of the Lee Building Industry Association, Shannon Lane, director of Choice Neighborhoods Initiative for the Housing Authority of the City of Fort Myers, and Jennifer Warner, director of economic development for Florida Realtors. The panel will be moderated by John Talmage, director of the Lee County Economic Development Office.

This event is hosted in partnership with the Lee Chapter of the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FRLA). Admission is $25 for members of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber or FRLA and $35 for future members. Limited seating is available, and attendees must register in advance.

WOMEN IN BUSINESS TO SHOWCASE ADOPTABLE PETS
The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Committee will offer valuable insight on local pet adoption during its adoption awareness networking event on Wednesday, November 3 at Bell Tower in Fort Myers.

The Women in Business program will showcase Gulf Coast Humane Society and its more than 70 years of animal welfare efforts in Southwest Florida. Gulf Coast Humane Society, which is also the program’s nonprofit spotlight, provides humane care for surrendered animals by offering refuge, medical care and a second chance at finding permanent, adoptable homes.

During the adoption awareness event, attendees will have an opportunity to meet local adoptable dogs, sip on cold refreshments and network with fellow business professionals. The networking event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bell Tower, located at 13499 S. Cleveland Ave., Suite 161, in Fort Myers. This month’s program is hosted by Bell Tower and sponsored by Collins Vision. The November Scholarship Sponsor is Chelsea Scomak of Conte Wealth Advisors and her canine Gulf Coast Humane Society alum, Koda (pictured!)

The Women in Business program is $10 for members of the Chamber and $20 for future members. Admission includes light appetizers provided by Burntwood Tavern and one complimentary beverage.
CHAMBER HOLIDAY PARTY - DECEMBER 7!
Christmas morning is the absolute best - and is the theme for this year's holiday party being held on Tuesday, December 7 from 5:30PM-8:30PM at the Crowne Plaza.

Of course the giggling kids and sounds of toys throughout the house have something to do with our love of Christmas morning, but mostly it's because of the truly special memories made with family and friends. IT'S ALMOST TIME FOR THE 15TH ANNUAL APEX AWARDS!
On Friday, November 12 at The Westin Cape Coral at Marina Village, we will gather together for the 15th Annual APEX Awards. Leadership NEXT's networking program on Tuesday, November 9 will feature a pre-session legislative update with Representatives Spencer Roach and Jenna Persons-Mulicka The event will be held at the Eastwood Golf Course Clubhouse (4600 Bruce Herd Lane, Fort Myers) from 5:00-7:00PM.

Attendees of Leadership NEXT represent a variety of businesses and industries throughout Southwest Florida.
