MANDATORY MINIMUM WAGE BREAKFAST PANEL
The Mandatory minimum wage topic is going to be part of the conversation during this year’s legislative session and is expected to be included on the 2020 ballot. The Chamber wants the membership to be aware of the details of this initiative and is presenting an event o n Friday, November 8, 7:30-9:30AM at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre to share information and provide education on the aspects of the potential minimum wage hike in Florida.

The following panel will be facilitated by John Talmage, Lee County Economic Development director: Victor Claar, FGCU Department of Economics ; Lois Croft, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association ; Dana Brunett, Lee County Economic Development Office ; Jay Johnson, Bubba's Roadhouse & Saloon .

WOMEN IN BUSINESS: SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTATION
The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business (WIB) Committee will host its November networking meeting on Wednesday, November 6th from 4 to 6 p.m. at iBERIABANK located at 9101 College Pointe Ct, Fort Myers, FL 33919. Attendees of the November WIB program will have the opportunity to network and attend the presentations of the Women in Business Scholarships to students from Florida SouthWestern State College , Florida Gulf Coast University, and Hodges University .

Each month, Women in Business features a nonprofit spotlight and in November, Children’s Advocacy Center will be highlighted. Children’s Advocacy Center advocates for a healthy, safe community for children through a multidisciplinary team approach to child abuse and neglect. They assess and treat kids believed to have been abused or to be at-risk of such abuse and provide a safe place for them to come and be heard. We will be collecting donated items from the Children’s Advocacy Center’s wish-list at this event. To view the wish-list, click here.

The Women in Business November networking event is being hosted by iBERIABANK , which is both the Women in Business and Scholarship Sponsor for the month of November.

Admission for the November Women in Business meeting is $10 for Chamber members and $20 for future members and includes one complimentary drink and light appetizers.
