Chicago Urban League Announces Entertainment and Honorees for 57 th Annual Golden Fellowship Dinner
Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly to Light up the Stage November 3 rd at the League’s Largest Annual Fundraiser; National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial to Deliver Keynote Address
Thursday evening, a host of Chicago Urban League (CUL) staff, board members, volunteers and donors gathered downtown at the Wintrust Building’s Grand Banking Hall for a sneak peek into the 57 th Annual Golden Fellowship Dinner, the organization’s largest yearly fundraiser. CUL Interim President and CEO Barbara Lumpkin delivered the exciting news that Maze featuring Frankie Beverly would be the headline entertainment along with National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial serving as keynote speaker.

“The reaction from the crowd says it all,” said Lumpkin. “Between the talent, guest speaker, honorees, and other surprises we have in store, this year’s Golden Fellowship Dinner will be unforgettable.”

Lumpkin also announced that the League will bestow the coveted Edwin C. “Bill” Berry Award on long-time businessman John W. Rogers, Jr. , Chairman, CEO & Chief Investment Officer of Ariel Investments. This year’s Lester H. McKeever, Jr. Individual Service Award will go to Dorothy Leavell , National Newspaper Publishers Association Chairman and Publisher of the Chicago and Gary Crusader Newspapers.

ADA 25 Advancing Leadership Institute is a program launched three years ago to cultivate leadership and encourage public sector impact among people with disabilities who live in metropolitan Chicago, building a pipeline of influential voices who can affect policy and increase board representation for the disability community.
