Music This Week

MUSIC MINISTRY THIS WEEK. Todays music is performed by RuthAnn "Pinky" Bigley.

Pinky will be singing Trust In You” and In a Little While”.

“Pinky” is known for her bright personality, and her uplifting and unique soprano voice. She was born and raised in Stratford, CT, home of former American Shakespeare Theatre. Pinky started singing lessons at the age of 11, studying with the dedicated father and son duo, Pasquale and Sir Anthonio Pappano. Pinky inherited her singing voice from her father and for many years the two sang together for family, friends, and various special events.

Thanks to the musical “Annie,” Pinky gained a name for herself locally by dressing up as Annie with a large stuffed dog and performing the song “Tomorrow” at charity events, for the Jerry Lewis Telethon and the Gong Show.  It was a role she would eventually play on stage. She started her professional journey in several well-known Connecticut Theatres. It was at the Darien Dinner Theatre where she was mentored by Theatre Producer Jane Bergère and had the unique opportunity to work with professional directors, choreographers, conductors and actors. After performing in several musicals such as: “Trixie True Teen Detective,” “Annie,” “Evita,” “South Pacific” and “42nd Street;” she received her Equity Union Card.

Pinky then went on to tour with the National Tour of “Les Misérables” and the International Tour of “Evita.” With the New York City Metropolitan USO Group, she performed for U.S. troops and is recognized for her rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” that she has sung at such venues as the Georgia Dome and other charity events.

Pinky is a passionate supporter of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and is always honored to sing at their annual events around the country.

After living in New York City for over 20 years, Pinky now resides in the greater Orlando Florida area where she performs her one woman shows at various venues. She enjoys going back to NYC to perform with her friends.

She is grateful for all the wonderful teachers, mentors, friends and family that have always been there to support and cheer her on.

Billie Thatcher will lead the congregation with Holy, Holy, Holy”  “My Faith Has Found a Resting Place” and “Trust and Obey”.
