This Week's Message: "How to Find God's Direction For Your Life"
The psalmist concludes that a good life has not brought him wealth or freedom from troubles and therefore has been "in vain". But this unmasks his heart. His obedience was not a way of pleasing God but rather a means of getting God to please him. When you say to God "I'll serve you only when a certain set of circumstances appear," then it is the circumstances we love and God is just a necessary apparatus for obtaining it. "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God" means just what it says. Your interpretation or the inconvenience of the moment are not relevant.

Gift Baskets for Style Show in November
We need your help for the most important fund raiser of the year in support of the Infant and Toddler Pantry! Each year we have a drawing for themed gift baskets. Those baskets are created and donated by members and friends who wish to support the work of our children's ministry. If you can put together a themed basket (kitchen, golf, theater, book nook, tool box, or other novel idea) it would be a great help to making our event a success. See Harriet Dawson on Sunday at church or give her a call at 612-718-0586 for more specifics or to volunteer.  Thank you for your support!
September Mission Projects
Families in our area go to bed hungry and many are homeless. Your mission contributions this month will help two local hunger programs. We will send support to The Wildwood Soup Kitchen and The Christian Food Pantry in Lady Lake. Also, we will be assisting the work of The Infant and Toddler Pantry. Your gifts to "missions" will make this possible.

Gift Cards
GIFT IDEA! The Mission Board and the Infant and Toddler Pantry (thanks to a grand idea from Janet Moe) are now selling gift cards. These can be used for birthdays, a memorial remembrance, Christmas, Easter or just a "Thinking of You" gift. The card states that a gift has been made to the Infant and Toddler Pantry in the name of the person being honored or remembered. This is a great way to help the children of the Pantry and a tool to teach our family members and grandchildren about the importance of giving. See Janet Moe after services to make you purchase of these attractive cards. Three cards are just $30 with all proceeds going to the Infant & Toddler Pantry.
Covid Precautions
The number of COVID cases, hospitalizations and deaths has been on the rise in recent weeks. Fortunately, those who have been vaccinated amount to less than 1 % of those experiencing severe infections. Our church continues, as we have from the beginning of the pandemic, to encourage caution and protect the safety of our church family. We encourage you to wear a mask and keep a safe distance from other people. Hand sanitizers are stationed throughout our facilities.
Pastoral Care
Contact Pastor Jim Keough on his cell 352-250-6160 or email: RevJim46@aol.com. If you are ill or going to the hospital please let us know. We want to pray for you and be of service.

Prayer Requests for September 19, 2021
Prayer Request help needed! When a difficult time arises, and we are in need of prayer it is easy to make a call or send a message asking for prayer. However, when God answers, and the need is no longer pressing we forget to contact the Prayer Team with an update. Some requests therefore linger on the list long after the need has been satisfied. Since there are more than 250 people who look to the church for ministry in this way it would be most helpful if you would take a moment to send a note advising of the status of your situation, friend, or loved one. Thank you for your help!  Together we are making a difference in the lives of people who need the comfort and help of prayer.
