The Artists of Voces Vivas and Open Studios Opening Reception


September 30 | 5:30pm - 8pm


Join us at the Museum of Boulder for a dual opening of Open Studios 2022 and The Artists of Voces Vivas!


King Como Quesadillas and Eats & Sweets will set up in our parking lot area for some fun food options to get your night started right! The opening reception is a FREE event. All food and beverages will be available for purchase onsite.


Open Studios 2022 features one piece from over 150 juried artists participating in this year’s Open Studios Tour. It is sure to beautifully represent the incredible and diverse Boulder County visual arts community and will help you plan your own 2022 tour of the artists’ studios.


We are featuring the thought-provoking work of the Voces Vivas artists in an exhibit all their own, The Artists of Voces Vivas. Located on the second floor, The Artists of Voces Vivas serves as a specialized exhibition during the simultaneous run of Open Studios 2022 in our Main Gallery.

CU Boulder was a hotbed for the Chicano Movement. Student activists fought for many rights. The right to an affordable education was a central cause to the Movement. This cartoon was published in El Diario de la Gente, a student newspaper published at CU.

In 2017 a delegation of Northern Arapaho tribal members traveled from Wyoming to Pennsylvania to retrieve remains of three children who died at Carlisle Indian Industrial School in the 1880s. It’s a journey into the troubled history of Native American boarding schools and a quest to heal generational wounds.

City of Boulder Art in Parking Garages: Seeking Artists


City of Boulder and Office of Arts and Culture Public Art Program is seeking artists to apply for this public art opportunity at the 11th & Spruce Street Parking Garage in Boulder, CO. This opportunity seeks a public artwork that reflects a “first impression” of downtown Boulder, experienced by both vehicular users of the parking structure as well as multimodal and pedestrians in the immediate vicinity. The selection panel is open to a wide range of public art mediums including 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional, light, and sound artworks. A total project budget of $122,500 is available for this opportunity.
