COVID-19 VACCINE INFORMATION
|
|
The Florida Department of Health in Leon County (DOH-Leon) and its partners are working together to distribute the vaccine in our community. COVID-19 vaccinations are being administered under guidance from the Florida Department of Health. Executive Order 20-315 directs us to focus on the following populations during this initial phase:
· Long-term care facility residents and staff.
· Persons 65 years of age and older.
· Health care personnel with direct patient contact.
To enhance public understanding, here are the latest key points: If you are age 65 or older, you may be vaccinated through the Leon County Health Department. You can also check with your own physician to see if they are offering the vaccine.
-
Appointments are required to be vaccinated at the Leon County Health Department.
- Request for an appointment for those 65 and over can be done through this link:
Note: This is not an appointment; this is a request for an appointment. Once you click “submit,” you will receive a quick message that your request has been received. You will not receive any further email confirmation.
-
Once this process (submission of a request for an appointment) is complete, you will be in line to receive a phone call from the Health Department to schedule an appointment. There is no need to keep calling the health department or re-submitting the form.
Remember that the vaccines require a second dose. It is imperative that you continue to follow all the safety protocols recommended by the CDC (including but not limited to wearing your mask, maintain a distance of 6 feet minimum, etc.).

14. Limit your intake of bad news. Turn off the TV and walk away from the
computer.
15. Honor your inner child. Remember to play. Hula hoop, sing, read a poem
aloud.
16. Make time to laugh – even if it’s at yourself! Read comics or a funny book
and watch humorous movies.
17. Express gratitude & practice forgiveness. Recognize goodness and let go
of anger and grudges.

19. Spend time in nature. Plant a garden or take a walk in the woods or one
of our city’s beautiful parks.
20. Get (safe) hugs every day. Hugging animals, or even trees, is great
