| 2026 Big Bend Heart Walk - May 16 at Cascades Park | |
The 2026 Big Bend Heart Walk, a signature community initiative of the American Heart Association, will take place on Saturday, May 16 at 8:45 a.m. at Cascades Park. This event plays a vital role in advancing the American Heart Association’s mission to expand CPR education and awareness, a key strategy for improving survival rates from out‑of‑hospital cardiac arrest. Today, nearly 90 percent of individuals who experience cardiac arrest outside a hospital do not survive, often because immediate bystander CPR is not administered. Participation in the Heart Walk helps increase access to lifesaving CPR training, supports critical cardiovascular research, and strengthens community readiness. You can make a difference by registering, inviting colleagues to participate and contributing to the creation of a more prepared and resilient community of lifesavers.

| | The Latest Cap Scan - March/April 2026 | | Your Dose of Medical Humor | | Here's Another Connection for CMS Members: Healthcare Lawyer On Call |
The CMS has had a long-standing relationship with Jeff Cohen and The Florida Healthcare Law Firm. Did you know that you can tap into a program called Healthcare Lawyer On Call through Jeff and his firm? That's right! On-Call is different than what you may be used to and doesn't mean that you'll find an attorney at 3 AM to answer a question, but what it does mean is that you can call and speak with someone at The Florida Healthcare Law Firm for 15 minutes at no charge! Please remember that any purely verbal discussion on legal matters is simply the lawyer’s best (and unconfirmed) understanding. Another benefit of being a CMS member!
