Join the UNM Anderson community to watch the second program of this year’s Hall of Fame: Business Leadership Series. This program will highlight the second 2021 Hall of Fame honoree, Steve McKee.

Tune in Tuesday, March 23 at
4:30 p.m. on the Anderson YouTube channel to hear how Steve's time at Anderson helped him build a meaningful career in marketing in New Mexico.
STUDENT SUCCESS
Anderson Student Takes Top Prize at National Collegiate Sports Sales Championship,
Team Takes 2nd
Our own Anderson student Mark Hernandez is a national champion: he took first place in the National Collegiate Sports Sales Championship! The final round was held March 9 virtually through a livestream event due to COVID-19 restrictions. Mark, who is pursuing his BBA in marketing, beat out 120 competitors nationwide to take first place.

The sales team representing Anderson also took second place, out of 30 competing schools. In addition to Mark, the UNM Anderson sales team members were Alex Burwinkle, Yuchi Chen, Dawson Jariwala and Michael Kendall.
The team was coached by Joseph Weiss, Anderson senior development officer and experienced sports sales professional, and sponsored by Dimitri Kapelianis through the UNM Center for Sales & Business Development.

The National Collegiate Sports Sales Championship, presented by Eventellect, exists to support students interested in sports sales make the jump from college to the pros through an opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive format.
UPCOMING EVENTS
2nd Believe In New Mexico Symposium: Social Entrepreneurship and Impact Investing

Friday, March 26 | 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. 
An online event that will be one of the largest gatherings on social entrepreneurship and impact investing in New Mexico
This symposium is a collaboration between the Anderson School of Management and Financing Change, a grassroots effort to support business and investment in New Mexico.
 
The symposium will serve as a catalyst for changemakers and encourage a cross-sector dialogue of businesses, governments, academia and students to understand how responsible businesses can fuel economic development in the state.
 
There is a $25 fee to cover costs, but students and faculty can attend free. Students can use Coupon Code STUSYMPYMT to waive the fee.
Covid-19 Forum: The Way Forward

Friday, April 9 | 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 
Anderson and CNM’s School of Business and Information Technology have joined forces to organize an online forum focused on the pandemic’s effect on businesses. Numerous public authorities will be present to take part in the discussions. The event’s goal is to identify best practices that will help our state’s economy move forward stronger and more resilient. Community participation is encouraged to contribute additional perspectives and insight.

Prior to the forum, fact sheets and speaker cards will be shared with additional content. After the forum, the organizers will circulate a memo highlighting the results and suggestions emerging from the forum, in order to contribute to the communal response to this crisis.
