Facilitated Internships


Facilitated internships are supervised, structured learning experiences in a professional setting that allow students to gain valuable work experience. They are stipend based and facilitated through Anderson. Stipends are distributed through student UNM Bursar accounts. Students earn three credit hours and must complete at least 160 hours (typically, at least 10 hours per week during fall / spring and 20 hours per week during summer).


Facilitated internships are available for both undergraduate and graduate students.

To apply for an Anderson facilitated internship opportunity, please complete the form below and upload the required documents.


Once you submit an application, your materials will be sent to the respective employer’s hiring contacts. You’re welcome to apply for multiple opportunities; however, you need to submit a separate form for each internship you are interested in.

Earn credit, too!


Students can receive three hours of free elective credit while completing an internship. Free elective credit can apply toward remaining electives you need complete your degree program. 


To have your internship approved for free elective credit, please complete an approval form. Be sure to include as much detail as possible such as anticipated start date, employer, duties and responsibilities.

EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Rainforest Pitch Competition



Anderson hosted the final round of UNM’s fall 2023 Rainforest Pitch Competition at Bow and Arrow Brewery Wednesday, Nov. 8. This entrepreneurial-focused competition is open to all university students. The final round featured 10 students presenting their business ideas in 90 seconds.

Securing first place for the Audience Choice award of $1,000 was Ankit Jaiswal for Campus Park. The Judge’s Choice award winners were two students from our Japanese partnership school, Yamanashi Gakuin University. They were Yasutada Ichikawa for FAM Passport and Masaki Murakami for Nailykey. Both students received $950.


The remaining seven teams, which included DentaFresh, getUp Apparel, The Passion Project, @Tiwalands, ROMINIUM TECH, PocDoc, and Wolczix, each secured a prize of $300.

Activation Innovation

A Hands-on Journey of Design Thinking

and Collaborative Problem Solving


Nov. 30, 8:30-11 a.m. | Q Station


The UNM Innovation Academy and CNM Ingenuity/Activate program, in collaboration with the Design Thinking ABQ Meetup, will host a hands-on workshop centered on utilizing design thinking for innovative problem-solving.


Free to attend, registration is required.

Come out and work with Learning Lab consultants, prepare for midterms and engage with your peers. Coffee, tea, snacks and pastries will be provided.
