INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S WEEK
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality.

Please join Anderson in recognizing International Women's Day March 8 and International Women's Week March 8-12.
Join Women in Leadership to Celebrate International Women's Week!

Friday, March 12
Noon - 1 p.m. 
In honor of International Women's Week, Women in Leadership is posting videos on their Instagram of women from UNM and the community about what it means to be a female in the academic and professional worlds. Join their celebration of International Women's Week by following them: @wil_unm!

Women in Leadership is also hosting a social event over Zoom Friday, March 12, consisting of a fun game, a few "get to know each other" questions, and meaningful conversation about what it means to be a female and how we can best support each other.

Anderson Hall of Fame: Business Leadership Series Program 1 

Tuesday, March 9 | 4:30 p.m. 
Join the UNM Anderson community to watch the premiere of the first program of this year’s Hall of Fame: Business Leadership Series. This program highlights the first Hall of Fame 2021 inductee Beverly Bendicksen.

Tune in on the Anderson YouTube channel to hear how her time at Anderson helped her launch a meaningful career in finance to benefit the New Mexico community.
NATIONAL SMALL BUSINESS INSTITUTE
AWARD WINNERS
UNM Anderson Students Awarded in National Small Business Institute® Project of the Year Competition
Two Anderson student teams, guided by Dimitri Kapelianis, associate professor of marketing, received Experiential Learning Project of the Year awards at the National Small Business Institute’s® Annual Conference, held Feb. 26.
 
Adriana Anderson, Justin Gabaldon, Erica Grong, Sue Jones and Sara Mirza won first place in the Graduate Feasibility/ Business Plan category for their work with Dance With Me.

In the Graduate Specialized category, Byron Aguilar, Savi Janapareddi, Olga Palacios and Zac Webb took third place for their project for Rigole Winery.

Anderson professor Raj Mahto was also recognized by SBI National President Whitney Peak as an SBI Fellow for his "demonstrated commitment to service for the small businesses of America and in his leadership in the Small Business Institute."
