STUDENT TEAM HEADS TO HSI NATIONAL COMPETITION

Team members (back) Angelica Montague, Nicole Sanchez, Sara Pezzaioli, Sofia Ciantra, (front) Matias Santo, Jacobo Gonzalez, Tomas Jais, Santi Huggins, and Prof. Jonathan Jona.

For the first time, a team of UNM students from diverse Hispanic backgrounds will compete in the national HSI Battle of the Brains, led by Anderson Assistant Professor Jonathan Jona.

The Battle takes place Oct. 2-5 in Orlando, Fla, and convenes students from Hispanic Serving Institutions nationwide to compete in the 24-hour cross-discipline global challenge. Teams will flex their academic and problem-solving skills and network with companies like KPMG, Dell, Ebay and Amazon.

Best of luck to this brainy team!
