2021 TOM BURRAGE SCHOLARSHIP
|
|
Kerrie Barney, an Anderson Master of Accounting student, was recently honored as a Tom Burrage Scholarship recipient. This scholarship is a $1,000 stipend given to a worthy student with an interest in forensic accounting or business appraisal.
The scholarship was created as a memorial to Anderson alumnus Tom Burrage and his contributions to the business appraisal community. Burrage was a highly respected Albuquerque CPA, speaker, author, editor and mentor on family law, economic damages, forensic accounting, taxation and business valuation.

ADOBE CREATIVE COMMONS COMING SOON!
|
|
UNM and Adobe have formed a transformative new partnership to make the full suite of creative software in Adobe Creative Cloud available to the University. The new Creative Commons, located in the east end of Zimmerman Library’s Learning Commons, will offer training and support for faculty, staff and students working on digital media projects.
In addition to group and individual work spaces, the space will provide resources including high-powered computers loaded with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, several secluded editing bays, two fully equipped audio booths, and a wide variety of audio-visual equipment available for check out.
The Adobe Creative Commons space and services will be available starting Jan. 26.

Facilitated Internships
Facilitated Internships are supervised, structured learning experiences in a professional setting that allow students to gain valuable work experience. These internships are stipend-based and facilitated through Anderson. Students earn 3 credit hours and are required to complete a minimum of 160 hours (typically, at least 10 hours per week during the fall and spring and either part-time or full-time during the summer). Facilitated Internships are available for undergraduate and graduate students.

Q Station Soft Landing Cohort Intern - Q Station
Are you interested in working with companies developing and commercializing space-focused technologies? If so, apply today for an opportunity to be an intern with one of our Soft Landing Cohort companies at Q Station! The Soft Landing Cohort Internship will place you for a year with a space technology startup interested in working with the Air Force Research Lab and the Space Force in small satellite, high-power laser, and high-power microwave technologies. You will learn to engage in technical and market research, project management, and business development (target market discovery, customer relationship building, and identifying project opportunities). Supervision, guidance, and mentorship will be provided by the company leadership, as well as leaders of the Q Station management team.

Special Projects Internship - City of Albuquerque - Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs (OIRA)
The Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs is seeking a Special Projects Intern to help develop operational management documents for the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs: best practices, standard operating procedures. The Special Projects Intern will also research and gather documentation on relevant OIRA topics including but not limited to: equity and inclusion, discriminatory practices, cultural bias, disparities in health, demographic analysis, and economic or social factors that are systemic and avoidable.
