BARBARA GIAMANCO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

Madison Kelsh, an Anderson BBA student with a marketing concentration, was recently awarded the Barbara Giamanco Memorial Scholarship from the Sales Education Foundation. This scholarship recognizes outstanding women pursuing a sales education.


Madison adds this honor to a number of recent achievements: she successfully completed MGMT 384: Professional Selling and MGMT 484: Advanced Sales, in which she generated the most qualified leads for the experiential project; she is a UNM Presidential Scholar and has maintained a GPA above 4.0 throughout her studies; she is actively involved with student life at UNM, including as marketing director of student special events for ASUNM; she is also actively involved with her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, including holding the positions of vice president of internal affairs and vice president of academic excellence; in Summer 2023 Madison worked at General Mills headquarters in Minneapolis as a North American retail sales intern.


She graduates this May and then will begin a full-time position with General Mills, as a Business Management Associate for North American Retail Sales.

Facilitated Internships


Facilitated Internships are supervised, structured learning experiences in a professional setting that allow students to gain valuable work experience. They are stipend based and facilitated through Anderson. Stipends are distributed through student UNM Bursar accounts. Students earn three credit hours and must complete at least 160 hours (typically, at least 10 hours per week fall / spring and 20 hours per week summer).


Facilitated Internships are available for undergraduate and graduate students.

Students can receive three hours of free elective credit while completing an internship. Free elective credit can apply toward remaining electives you need complete your degree program. 


To have your internship approved for free elective credit, please complete an approval form. Be sure to include as much detail as possible such as anticipated start date, employer, and duties and responsibilities.
