YOUR LIBRARY LOVES TO HELP
Music and Memory Program

How can music change the life of a loved one afflicted by Alzheimer’s or dementia? When someone you love struggles with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, or another form of cognitive or physical impairment, it can be a tremendous challenge to communicate and find ways to help them. Personalized music can help bridge that gap and enable you to reconnect with one another. Re-connecting them with their favorite music can vastly improve their quality of life regardless of their cognitive or physical status.

Caregivers can enroll a loved one in the Community Library’s Music and Memory program as follows:

Pick up a playlist questionnaire at the Adult Services Information Desk, fill it out with your loved one’s musical selections, and return it to us. You will be notified when your iPod is ready to be picked up. Check out the personalized iPod with a valid MMSCL card for a loan period of 60 days.

For information, please call Debbi Gallucci, Senior Outreach and Reference Librarian at 399-1511 ext. 354.
