Register here to discuss The Pull of the Stars by Emma Donoghue, a story involving a nurse, a doctor, and a volunteer helper, working at an understaffed maternity ward in Ireland during the 1918 flu pandemic. The expectant mothers who have come down with the terrible new flu are quarantined together, yet over the span of three days, these women change each other’s lives in unexpected ways. This is a tale of hope and survival against all odds.

HIICAP: Health Insurance Counseling

HIICAP. Health Insurance Information, Counseling and Assistance Program is a federally funded program from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and a sponsored service project of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Suffolk.
A trained HIICAP counselor from RSVP will offer counseling via telephone and can assist with:
- Applying for the Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage (EPIC) Program, Medicare savings programs, "Extra Help" prescription assistance, and pharmacy discount programs.
- Medicare and health insurance questions about benefits, options, paperwork, and resources.
- Information on insurance products that may help pay for costs not covered by Medicare alone such as a Medigap or a Medicare Advantage Plan.
- How to review and select a Medicare Part D prescription plan.
