NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program @ Main

With severe weather events becoming more frequent and more extreme, it is more important than ever that New Yorkers are prepared for disasters. The NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program teaches residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to normal conditions. This training course will provide an introduction to responding to a natural or manmade disaster. Participants will be advised on how to properly prepare for any disaster, including developing a family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies. Each family that attends will receive one preparedness kit. Registration is now open. Visit www.prepare.ny.gov to learn more.

Brighten the day of a homebound neighbor. Our cards will be distributed by a local food pantry. Earn one hour of community service. For students in grades 6 through 12 with a valid MMSC library card.

Pokémon Card Exchange @ Main

Friday, 2/28, 4:00 – 5:00 PM

Play some Pokémon games and bring your own cards to exchange and show off with other teens. One pack of Pokémon sampling trading cards will be provided to each registered teen.

Senior Advocate @ Mastic Beach

A representative from the Suffolk County Office of the Aging will meet one-on-one to discuss different benefits and programs available to senior residents. The Advocate is available on a walk-in basis. No Appointment required. Open to all.

The mic is all yours! Sing some songs, read some poems, tell some jokes, or come to just listen. Performers will have a 15-minute performance slot. Microphones and a keyboard will be provided. Open to all.
