Holiday Hours

As we say goodbye to 2024, we wanted to take a moment to thank our community for your patronage and support throughout the year. In celebration of New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, all Library locations will be closed on Tuesday the 31st and Wednesday the 1st. Have a safe and happy holiday!

Catholic Health Community Bus @ Moriches

Friday, 1/10, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Catholic Health's Community Outreach Mobile Clinical Unit provides free health screenings and a brief cardiac history for those 18 and older—including blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose—as well as patient education and referrals as needed. The hours are generally from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. No appointments are necessary. Insurance is not required and there are no fees.

National Science Fiction Day @ Main

Thursday, 1/2, 5:00 - 5:30 PM

Come celebrate National Science Fiction Day, which corresponds with the official birthdate of famed science fiction writer Isaac Asimov. Listen to a story and complete an activity. Grades K-5.

Babies Bonding: Handprint Calendar @ Mastic Beach

Thursday, 1/2, 6:00 - 6:45 PM

This year our baby bonding will create a handprint calendar. We will read a story together and then create our January calendar page. Please bring a blanket and dress for a mess. We will be using paint. Birth to 18 months with an adult. No older siblings.

Play Dates @ Main

Babies ages birth-23 months: Friday, 1/3, 10:00 - 11:00 AM

Toddlers ages 2-3: Friday, 1/3, 11:30 - 12:30 PM

Bring your little one for a fun play date! This is an unstructured meetup meant for play, exploring, and socializing. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Black and Gold Sharpie Journals @ Moriches

Start the new year in style with these shiny journals to decorate! They’re perfect to write down your goals, dreams, and ideas for the year ahead. Or give as a special gift to friends for the new year! Grades 2-5.

Japanese cartoons, a few Marvel moments, snacks and plenty of awesomeness. Register for each session.

Disney Trivia @ Main

Thursday, 1/2, 2:00 – 3:00 PM

In honor of National Trivia Day, we will test your knowledge of all things Disney. The winner will take home a prize!

Air-Dry Clay After School @ Main

Thursday, 1/2, 3:30 – 4:30 PM

Start a new air-dry clay project or finish an old one. Clay and tools will be provided.

Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group @ Main

Thursday, 1/2, 6:30 - 7:30 PM

The Family and Children's Association is hosting a monthly support group for persons who care for someone with dementia or memory loss. The support group provides caregivers with emotional and social support, as well as educational materials to assist with caring for their loved ones. This group is for spouses, children, or any other family members or friends who are caring for someone with memory loss.

Open to all.
