Signing up for a card is easy - visit the library with your picture ID and proof of residency. We’ll mail you your card within the week. If you cannot make it to the library, please email CRS@communitylibrary.org and a staff member will be in touch with you

*Children, teen and family events require registration. Family events must have at least one child in grade 6 or younger. All events are weather permitting. Face masks must be worn by everyone over 2 years of age when social distancing cannot be maintained.  

ADULTS
JOB AND CAREER COUNSELING
Get one-on-one help with resumes, job searches, interviewing techniques and explore career options with our Career Counselor via telephone. Book your appointment online for Thursday, 10/8 @ 6:00 PM or Saturday, 10/17 @ 10:00, 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM. You may also register by calling 631-399-1511 ext 240.                                                                                                                                                              Registration is required. MMSCL cardholders only.
HOMEBOUND PATRON SERVICES
MMSCL district residents who are unable to visit the library due to a temporary or permanent illness or disability, or for individuals who are frail and elderly and don’t have transportation may apply for our Homebound/Books by Mail Program.

With this free service, homebound patrons will receive library materials delivered free of charge. Library materials available include large and regular print books, books on CD, DVDs and magazines. Apply online or by calling Ellen at 631-399-1511 ext 249.

Did you know that when you complete the 2020 Census that you are helping our community get funding and representation? If you have not done so, please complete your census today online or by calling 844-330-2020 (English)/844-468-2020 (Spanish). It is safe, secure and confidential.

VIRTUAL PROGRAMS FOR BABIES & TODDLERS
Join Miss Kathy every Friday morning at 10 & 10:30 AM on Facebook for special online episodes of baby and toddler programs! All the fun, play and learning from our in-person classes are included.

DIY FALL LUMINARIES
Children in grades 3-7 may register now to make their very own festive macrame leaf wall hanging craft! Once registered you’ll pick up the supply kit from the library in advance and follow along with Miss Lauren’s instructional video which will be available on Facebook on Monday, 10/12.  

SCARECROW EXTRAVAGANZA FAMILY FUN
Saturday, 10/10 from 1-3 PM meet us in our parking lot for free fall fun! We will provide all the supplies for your family to build your own scarecrow to bring home. If you have any unwanted clothing items that we can use that day, please bring them.  
this Saturday 10/3.                                 
Registration is required and families must have at least one child in grade 6 or younger.

GRANDPARENTS RAISING GRANDCHILDREN-VIRTUAL ZOOM MEET

 Find resources and expert information from our guest speakers, especially during these changing times. This month Elizabeth A. Justesen, Esq. from the Legal Aid Society of Suffolk County will be joining us.

CRAFTS-TO-GO
Great news! Kids Crafts-To-Go Kits will continue to be offered throughout the fall! Pick up your craft kits when you visit the Children’s Department or by calling 631-399-1511 ext. 262 to request your kit. Curbside pickup available. AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.

PARENTS & CAREGIVERS-MEET WITH OUR SOCIAL WORK INTERN
A social work intern (fluent in English and Spanish) is available to help you find answers to questions regarding food stamps, emergency services, employment opportunities and other issues. Appointments will be available on Thursdays at 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 & 5:00 PM.
Sign up for a one-hour private appointment.                                                                                                             Registration is required. You must provide your email address to receive the Zoom ID link to join the session, which we will email to you prior to your appointment. Sessions are also available by phone.

LIBRARY PICK-UP OPTIONS FOR YOUR EASE & CONVENIENCE
Now there are 3 options for picking up your reserved materials at your community library.
1.      Traditional: come inside the building and visit the front desk where your requested items will be ready for you.
2.      Curbside: when your items are ready, make a curbside pickup appointment. When you’re in the library parking lot, give us a call at 631-399-1511 and we will bring your items to you.
3.      Lockers: choose our brand-new outdoor lockers as your pickup location. With your library card, you can get your reserved library materials any time, even if the library is closed.
