#kanecares is off to a Great Start!
August is always a busy time for educators and administrators with the beginning of the school year. This year, they have the extra burden of worrying about COVID-19 concerns.

With the start of the school year just around the corner, we wanted to give educators an opportunity and reminder to take time for yourselves and take care of your mental health, so the Professional Learning department launched a 30 day #kanecares self-care challenge.

Activities do not have to be completed in order on the sheet. Have another idea? Feel free to do your own activity! The goal of this campaign is for YOU to be at YOUR BEST.

If participants post a photo of their activity on Twitter or Instagram and tag @kanecountyroe with the #kanecares during at least 15 days of the challenge, they will be entered in a raffle to win a prize!

It's not too late to join us! Want a daily text reminder to complete an activity? Sign up here.
Did you Hear? We Launched Inspire!
In July, we launched 'Inspire,' the new professional learning subscription box from the Kane County Regional Office of Education.

Boxes come with instructional strategies, activities, and even gifts for you personally!

With each box, you can earn 8 professional development hours by reflecting on how your implementation of the strategies worked. Boxes can be delivered monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, and semi-annually.

Free Programs with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County
The Forest Preserve District is getting creative with ways to keep children engaged and learning outside of the classroom!

Throughout August, they are hosting a summer edition of “Nature Virtually Everywhere” e-programs, which will be available on Youtube & Facebook. These programs will be great informational videos to use in classrooms to educate on nature.

They will also be converting all school field trip curriculum into virtual editions, which will be posted on their website shortly.

There will also be a fall edition of “Nature Virtually Everywhere” e-programs coming later this fall.

If you have any questions or ideas for virtual programs, call the Forest Preserve District of Kane County at 630-444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com
Thanks to the Kane County Health Department
