COVID-19 Walk-Up Testing - 1 DAY OPPORTUNITY
In response to ongoing COVID-19 concerns and cases in the Kane County area, a walk-up testing site managed by the Kane County Health Department will be running on Monday, July 27th from 9am - 5pm, stationed at the Kane County Regional Office of Education, 28 N 1st St, Geneva, IL in the west parking lot . Free street parking is available on Hamilton Street. Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) tests will be provided free to the community. 

The Kane County Health Department reported Kane County’s first confirmed COVID-19 case on March 10, 2020. As of July 21, 2020, 8,473 confirmed cases have been reported in Kane County, including 290 deaths. The Kane County Health Department has created a COVID-19 dashboard to keep you updated and informed with the most up-to-date data. Find that information here.

We are excited to partner with Project Backpack through Elgin Community College this year! Since 2010, this initiative has helped more than 17,000 students in the area.

The Progress Report: Are you INSPIRED?

New Furniture at the JJC
In June, the Juvenile Justice Center (JJC) common spaces received a fresh look! New furniture in study areas will add to the experience in order for students to have a quiet workspace to study and get assignments done.
Student Loan Forgiveness
Kane County ROE, in partnership with Fiducius, offers a voluntary student Loan Relief benefit. It is available to any full-time public sector employee with federal student loan debt including Subsidized & Unsubsidized Stafford loans, Parent PLUS & Graduate PLUS loans. On average, employees save upwards of $550 on their monthly student loan payment.

New Employees at the ROE
This past month, we welcomed three new employees to our family at the Kane County Regional office of Education.

Jenna Moller, the new Professional Learning Coordinator, comes to us from Harvard District 50, where she served as an Instructional Coach.

Myra Torres, the new Professional Learning Administrative Assistant comes from East Aurora School District 131, where she most recently served as an Attendance Dean.

Molly McQueeny, the new Communications/Website Coordinator, comes from Carthage College, where she recently graduated with degrees in Marketing and Graphic Design.
