Local Government Week: Understanding the impact of local government

From health, housing and homelessness to transit, roads, drinking water, emergency services and much more, local governments deliver programs and services that support residents every day. Local Government Week helps build awareness of how these services are planned, funded and delivered, while encouraging residents to learn about the role local government plays in shaping healthy, vibrant and connected communities.

The week also highlights opportunities for residents to engage with local government; better understand the responsibilities of municipal, provincial and federal governments; and learn how decisions made at the local level affect daily life.

Join us as we celebrate Local Government Week and visit Your Region to explore the Regional services and programs that help make Durham Region a great place to live, work, play and invest.
