Mondelēz International Opens Global Innovation Center in Morris


Morris County Commissioner Director John Krickus and Commissioner Tayfun Selen joined other elected officials and community leaders at the opening of the new state-of-the-art facility for Mondelēz International global research and development facility in Whippany. Mondelēz’s top scientists will perform R&D for many tasty snacks and treats Mondelēz manufactures.

Tour 24 Historic Sites This Weekend


Two dozen Morris County historical sites and museums invite the public to view the best of their ARTifacts during the 2023 Pathways of History Tour, May 6-7. Collections include fine art, photography, fabric arts, plus antique farming equipment and historic craft and music demos. Plan your FREE treasure-filled tour with downloadable lists, descriptions and maps or follow a ready-made itinerary.

Field of Flags Honors Veterans


Honor a veteran with a flag at the annual "Field of Flags," on 4th of July weekend in Parsippany. Flags support and honor active-duty military, veterans, first responders and others who serve our nation & communities.

VFW Post 3401 sponsors the program.

Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off Days Begin May 20


— Morris County MUA's household hazardous waste drop offs start May 20. Please read the rules. Morris County residents only. No businesses. Bring an ID.

Morris County MUA makes certified compost, wood chips and mulch including compost certified for organic use made locally. Order online or call 973-285-8389.

Plastic plant pots

Reuse or Return Plant Pots; Don't Recycle Them


Morris County MUA does not accept plastic garden plant containers, no matter the recycling number.

Recycle used plastic plant pots and trays with CoHome at Grow It Green's Seedling Sale on May 14.

Ask if your garden center will take back plastic plant pots and trays.

Shredded paper is no longer a recyclable material due to facility restrictions.

Stop by the Harding Health Fair on May 11 for free cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose checks, chiropractic assessments or chair massage. Do meditation and yoga. Learn about health topics, tobacco cessation, nutrition. Adults can get a COVID-19 vaccination or booster. It's sponsored by Atlantic Health System and Morris County Division of Public Health.

The Mental Health Association offers FREE suicide prevention programs to schools and community organizations ranging from mental health for 3rd and 4th graders to signs of suicide for middle- and high-school students to programs for school staff, parents and young adults.
