Rockwood Historic Structures Walking Tour
Take a rare walk back in time to learn how the existing and lost structures of Rockwood completed a working estate of food production, animal husbandry, household utilities, transportation, and other 19th-century challenges. Your guide will be dressed in vintage clothing and will use vintage photographs to provide you with the history of Rockwood as you walk from structure to structure. The tour is approximately 90 minutes in length and covers approximately 1 mile including surfaces of grass, gravel, and paved areas. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. $15, $10 NCC residents. The Bachelor Collectors: The Arts of Rockwood
Join Rockwood's Director, Ryan Grover, through a highlights tour of the museum's fine and decorative art collections. Each generation that lived at
Rockwood, from the 1850s through the 20th century, added important arts and antiques to the house spanning the 17th-20th centuries and originating from Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Two especially important figures in this collection include Joseph Shipley and his great nephew Edward Bringhurst V - instead of marrying they both committed themselves to their aesthetic and cultural interests becoming early art collectors in the region. The tour will end in the conservatory, the best object in the collection, with complimentary drinks. $20, $15 NCC residents. Adults 21+

Growing at Rockwood: The Grand Garden Tour
Join Rockwood staff for a tour of the estate's 170-year-old gardens. Highlights include Rockwood's original 1850s pleasure garden, the modern apothecary garden, one of America's oldest attached conservatories and much more. Rockwood was built as a specimen garden at the same time as the Gothic revival mansion - this tour will also discuss the unique origins of the plants collected there throughout its history and their popularization from global colonization efforts by Western powers.
