Pacific Symphony’s 2022-23 season, announced Tuesday, captures many of the currents and concerns that have recently swept through Orange County and the world at large.

While COVID protocols remain in place for Orange County’s major arts organizations, and nobody can predict how long they will endure, the symphony’s 44th season is as robust and wide ranging as any in memory. Beginning in September, 36 concerts are scheduled.

A large list of guest artists includes violinists Dennis Kim and Stefan Jackiw; pianists Jeffrey Biegel, Yefim Bronfman, Claire Huangci, Louie Lortie, Orli Shaham and Conrad Tao; organist Dennis James; cellist Warren Hagerty; and soprano Elissa Johnston.
♦ Culture ♦
Santa Ana’s annual Boca de Oro Festival has surely come a long way since its beginning in 2016, when first ideated and designed by founders Madeleine Spencer and Robyn MacNair.

With an expected attendance of 7,000 visitors for this year’s in-person events, Boca de Oro has become a staple for the community, as well as with local students and teachers in Santa Ana, as it brings together local, regional and national artists for people to interact with and explore the art world.

The free festival kicks off Saturday with keynote speaker Marytza Rubio at noon at the Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, with activities and performances occurring throughout downtown Santa Ana all day through 10 p.m.
Each week, we recommend a variety of events and experiences from the listings at, our free website for Orange County's arts and cultural community. We always suggest you be mindful of the most recent health and safety guidelines in California, Orange County, and the venue for the listing.
