Marshall Ramsey Hired to Launch New Ole Miss News Operation

The University of Mississippi School of Journalism and New Media has hired award-winning journalist Marshall Ramsey as the inaugural director of the Mississippi Media Lab. Ramsey, who serves as Mississippi Today editor-at-large, will lead the new lab that promises to connect student-produced news content with media outlets around the nation. He will also work as civic coordinator of the Jordan Center for Journalism Advocacy and Innovation at UM. Read more

The University of Mississippi campus will be all abuzz with activities April 12 as it hosts its annual Mississippi Day. This ultimate outdoor open house will celebrate and showcase the opportunities the flagship offers. The event will be open 10 am–2 pm on the Gertrude C. Ford Ole Miss Student Union Plaza, The Circle, and Business Row. This free event is open to the public and will have shuttles running from parking at the Ford Center and Tad Smith Coliseum. Unique Ole Miss course examines singer-songwriter's connection to the region
University of Mississippi students have had as eclectic and iconic an experience as Bob Dylan himself as they study the musician's relationship to The South. What began as an aha moment with the realization that more than 70 of Dylan's 600 songs relate to the region and its culture turned into the class titled Bob Dylan and The South, taught by R.J. Morgan, instructional associate professor of journalism and director of the Mississippi Scholastic Press Association.
