Free Concert on the Square October 25 will feature National Artist Maggie Rose plus local bands Neon Junkies and Thistle Ridge

The free event will usher in a big football weekend, as Ole Miss extends the Oklahoma Sooners a welcome to the Southeast Conference. A stage will be set up in the parking bay in front of City Hall, where the University basketball teams have put on Square Jam over the past several years.

Big Baseball Book signing Friday, October 25 at Off Square Books


"When Mississippi Schooled America in Baseball," James R. Crockett (Nautilus Publishing)


Join Ole Miss head baseball coach Mike Bianco, former freshman All-American and member of the 2022 championship-winning baseball team Kevin Graham, and authors James Crockett and Neil White for a special baseball book signing. The signing will take place from noon to 1 pm at Off Square Books, and will be limited to one hour. Personalizations will be available.

This Halloween, SoLa Oxford, a “casual-chic haunt” on South Lamar is combining the spooky and the fun, hosting a special event called “Creepy Tiki” on Thursday, October 31 at 5 pm. Known for their innovative takes on fine dining, SoLa is trading in regular service for a night of creative and delicious ramen and tiki-inspired cocktails.

The weather was amazing and I was relishing being alone there, absorbed in my own thoughts for as long as it might last. Eventually the door opened and out stepped an attractive 40-ish blonde woman with a PBR. She took a seat on the other side of The Balcony and let out a big sigh.
