Voter Turnout has Already Topped 
1 Million for Florida's Aug. 28 Primaries
Sometime over the weekend, the number of Florida voters who have cast ballots for the Aug. 28 primaries passed the 1 million mark. Statistics released by the Florida Division of Elections this morning show 862,452 voters have mailed in ballots and 162,631 have voted at in-person early voting sites.

Objections Continue After West Palm Beach Votes to Approve Okeechobee Business District

In a meeting this week, the Palm Beach County Commission unanimously asked Verdenia Baker, County Administrator. to challenge at the state level, the West Palm approval of the Okeechobee Business District. The county wants to complete traffic  studies on the business district proposal before West Palm's Comprehensive Plan is changed to approve the district.

WPBF: City Administrator Jeff Green said Thursday he doesn't believe efforts by the town of Palm Beach and Palm Beach County to halt the newly approved Okeechobee Business District will be effective. Both governments strongly objected to the vote by the city on Monday to change the city's comprehensive plan and allow a 25-story office tower on Okeechobee Boulevard, which voters had limited to five stories in a referendum years ago.
