Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the launch of the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds, established by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, to provide $350 billion in emergency funding for state, local, territorial, & Tribal governments. Guidance was also released on how funds can be used to respond to acute pandemic-response needs, fill revenue shortfalls among state and local governments, and support the communities and populations hardest-hit by the COVID-19 crisis. Coloradans gathering inside in groups of 10 or more are no longer required to wear masks if at least 80% of the group is vaccinated against COVID-19, Gov. Jared Polis announced Sunday as he continued to loosen the state’s coronavirus restrictions. The order, which also extends other parts of the statewide mask mandate for another 30 days, says people must show “proof of vaccination” in order to remove their masks in such situations. It did not elaborate on what proof is considered acceptable or how it will be verified. Mask wearing will continue to not be required indoors in counties where the threat of COVID-19 was the lowest.

Colorado Democrats formally rolled out their massive transportation fee-implementation and spending bill on Tuesday with support from top business leaders and two Republicans, saying 2021 is the year to finally tackle the holy grail that is the state’s long standing infrastructure deficit.

A federal judge on Wednesday threw out the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's nationwide moratorium on evictions but agreed to put a temporary hold on her ruling as the government seeks to reverse the decision on appeal. The ruling was a setback for millions of Americans who have fallen behind on rent payments during the pandemic.
