Below you'll find the Policy and Legislative Advisory Network's (PLAN) highlights on what's happening in the world of policy that most impacts economic and social mobility within Adams County, Broomfield County, and the City of Aurora.

By 2025, 50% (est. n= 193,000) of individuals 18 and older in Adams and Broomfield Counties will earn a post-high school certificate or degree.

That is an increase of an estimated 45,800 people in 5 years!

This work is about reduction of poverty and improving the overall well-being of individuals and industry across the region. Credential Attainment is one measurement the community can utilize to monitor progress towards economic and social mobility. Learn more HERE.

Statewide & National Updates
#1: Judge Leaving CDC Eviction Pause In Place For Now

A federal judge agreed to delay enforcement of her ruling earlier this month that struck down a nationwide freeze on evictions, handing a temporary reprieve to cash-strapped renters. The move allows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) eviction moratorium to remain intact while the Biden administration appeals the judge’s May 5 decision.
#2: CDC Says Vaccinated Can Skip Masks Indoors & Outdoors

The CDC says fully vaccinated adults can safely resume activities indoors or outdoors without masks or distancing, in gatherings large or small. The announcement marks a major milestone in the effort to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic in the United States. The new policy is based on recent real-world studies from Israel and the U.S. in people who've been vaccinated.
#3: Polis Ends Mask Order In Nearly All Settings

The general public no longer needs to wear a mask in Colorado, Gov. Jared Polis announced Friday, bringing the state in line with federal guidance and largely ending the most visible sign of the pandemic's effects on society. Masks will no longer be required by the state for vaccinated or unvaccinated people, Polis said. Face coverings will still be required in schools, prisons, hospitals and other specific settings, though fully vaccinated students can go unmasked.
#4: Vaccine Access Expands to Kids Ages 12+

As vaccine demand slows in Colorado, the state is expanding availability of inoculations. Employees will soon able to get inoculated at their workplaces, while the minimum age for eligibility falls to 12. Gov. Jared Polis told reporters Tuesday the state will start offering vaccine clinics at workplaces statewide starting next week. “People can just get vaccinated right over their lunch hour on break," he said.

The Tea on Rocky Mountain Partnership

The Rocky Mountain Partnership is a coalition of cross-sector stakeholders who are working together to collectively improve economic and social mobility across the Adams County, Aurora and Broomfield region by:
  • utilizing data to set shared targets and as a scorecard to measure progress towards this;
  • advocating for and aligning policies, funding, and resources to remove barriers and accelerate progress;
  • better coordinating and improving the work happening on the ground to achieve this.
